Battlegrounds Computer Repair Instead of properly diagnosing what was wrong with my machine, they sold me unnecessary hardware. Shirley NY NewYork

On 9/22/18 my laptop compluter died.  The battery stopped charging and the screen went black.  I could not turn on the machine.  I brought the laptop and associated cables and hardware to Battlegrounds Computer Repair 4 times.   On 9/22 they told me "Your power strip is bad" and sold me a new power strip which didn't accommodate all of my cables and plugs.  I returned it and had to visit a hardware store and buy another one for $32.55. 

On 9/28 the problem recurred in exactly the same way.  Battlegrounds told me "your charger is bad", took and discarded my old charger and sold me a new one for $43.44. 

On 12/12 the problem recurred in exactly the same way.  After I finished tearing my hair out, I decided to experiment by changing the setup configuration.  I unplugged the new charger from the new power strip and plugged it into the grounded wall outlet.  It worked like a charm!  The battery resumed charging.

Just out of curiosity, I decided to reinstall the old power strip.  It worked like a charm! The battery resumed charging.

Then I reinstalled the new charger and, remembering I had a little $1.99 two-prong-to-three-prong plug adapter, plugged the charger into it and plugged the adapter into the new power strip.  Worked like a charm!  The battery resumed Make charging.

I decided to visit Battlegrounds and discuss this, which I did slowly and clearly.

The owner of Battlegrounds said a) "Power strips fail frequently"; b) "Chargers go bad frequently" and c) "So, the real problem was the fact that the $1.99 plug adapter didn't work?

I became frustrated and began methodically repeating the sequence of events.  The owner said 1) "What do you want?  People who complain usually expect something!"

I turned on my heel and left.

By my calculations, Battlegrounds cost me an unnecessary $120 for a fix which should have cost a mere $1.99 and added in a gratuitous insult.

Either they don't know what they're doing, or they make recommendations solely based on profit.
