Bauktur Success Institute Required $1500 up front to get a grant. Winnetka California

In September of 2013 I received a green card in the mail stating that I had grant money waiting for me and that all I had to do was pay $1500.00 up front and I would receive a booklet of "lessons" to complete and then receive my grant money. I received a call from Brian Collins and we discussed the first lesson. The next week (this was a 10 week) lesson plan I spoke to Travis Walker and discussed the second lesson and the third, fourth, fifth, etc. I discussed the plans (lessons) with Olivia White. With each call and discussion I asked when I would get my money back (the $1500 paid up front)...I was told I would get it back at the end of the 10 lessons. On October 23 my daughter was visiting and she knew what was going on with this company and picked up the other phone and listened in on the conversation. Olivia White was the person I was speaking to. I attempted to discuss getting my money back, Olivia state that I would not get my money back. The whole purpose of this (Plan) was to get me money from a grant to buy things I needed to help me around my house and in my life...(I am 87 years old). My daughter then got into the conversation and asked Olivia to return my money and that this was a SCAM and then attempted to explain that it is a federal offense to scam the elderly and that she was going to turn them in to the federal government for SCAMMING the Elderly. As it stands I am out $1500 and they are still calling me and I do not know what else to do at this point. I turned here because I saw Texies report. I have never heard of applying for a grant for myself. Is this legal? I have been SCAMMED by this company. What can I do to get my money back. I am on a limited budget.
