My 16 year old daughter got a job at Baynes. This job was her first experience in the work force and she was very excited. While she was being trained, there was nothing she could do to please her boss Patty Bayne. One of the issues that my daughter ran into was that she brought apples into the store that was going to be sold in a "generic" box. Patty freaked out because Patty Baynes wants the public to think the apples the store is selling are from their orchard.....NOT THE CASE. The employees are supposed to transfer them into Baynes marked baskets so that they can deceive the public. They are selling apple which were bought from another source. This apparently was not the only problem Patty had with my daughter. My daughter walked in to work on a Sunday morning only to have Patty call her into the office and FIRE HER!!!!! Patty told her that she "called the night before and left a message on her phone"--so she tried to take the cowardly way out and it back fired on both of them.

My daughter was so traumatized she cried for days and is now afraid to get another job because she thinks every boss will treat her like Patty Bayne.

I have personally witnessed the embarrassing situations that Patty Bayne has put her employees in at the check out and in the bakery. The public needs to hold her accountable for her behavior by not supporting her business or if you must go, holding her accountable for her behavior.

Just remember you can just as easily buy apples from the grocery store (like Baynes does).

The truth about Bayne's

AUTHOR: It''s true - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 06, 2009

I worked at Bayne's Apple Valley Farm for almost a year (out of season, it was much less time). I worked as a "Caramel Apple Girl" and at the bakery counter. Yes, it is true that the apples are shipped in from out of state and housed in a large cooler/freezer in the back of the store. We were to go in and take the apples out of the cardboard boxes and put them in wooden crates to make them look like we had just picked them. The pies are frozen and marked certain ways to make them look homemade. Patty will get around the whole debate by saying they are "homebaked" not "homemade." At Thanksgiving time, when over 1,000 pies are sold...we had to take the boxes from the frozen pies out and around the building the back way so no one would see us breaking down frozen pie boxes. Most of the cookies come from premade mixes as well. As far as I know, the only thing that's actually made there is the doughnuts. It's a total scam and that woman is horrendous to work under.

My Niece worked at Baynes and I have to agree with this report.  Not only is Patti a horrible person and boss, she is also a liar by deception to the consumer.  All of the baked goods (pies, breads, cinnamon doughnuts..ect) are shipped in frozen and then baked on site to create the illusion that they are homemade.  I used to take my family to Baynes every fall but now that I know what they practice there, I no longer do.  I hope your daughter has recovered from her inexcusable treatment by that employer...my niece couldn't stand her either!
