Baystate Tent and Party Rentals Wouldn't refund my money for a defective Slush Machine. Owner called me a liar he said it works fine. Tewksbury, Massachusetts

I rented a slush machine for a graduation party over 75 people at 98 degrees weather.  The slush machine never worked. It didn't come with a users guide so I could troubleshoot it.  I tried numerous times to contact the company over the weekend but left one message and during the week I left several messages with his employee's. No one returned my call. 

The owner finally called about 5 days later and I wasn't home.  My husband told him to call back in about an hour and I would be home.  Needless to say no call.  I waited another couple of days to see if maybe he just got busy but still no call back. 

I finally called him back to hear him call me a liar and that the slush machine is working now in his office with no problems and that it was my fault but he would refund only half my money back. I told him I deserve to have all my money refunded because not only do most parties happen on the weekend and his company was closed and I tried several times to contact them It is only fair to refund the full amount. There was two emergency contact numbers which I called both.  He then told me " You called the wrong numbers and didn't leave a message, Don't you know how to follow directions"

I told him I would call and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and he told me " Go ahead they will call me and I will tell them I tried to refund your money and they will just close the complaint" 

I have a video of the machines with water and I left them like that for when the men picked up the machines 2 days later.  One of the men told my husband that the machine was in repair the weekend before and they thought it was fixed.  I also have the phone records how many times I called. 

I told the owner I have a video and the phone records but he didn't care.  He was the most arrogant, insulting man I have ever spoken too. 

I spent a lot of money on this graduation party and because of them they nearly ruined the whole thing.  They don't care about customer satisfaction which is sad that there are still people out there that think they don't need customer satisfaction. 

If you rent from this company be fair warned what the hassles and insults will be if their equipment doesn't work and you have to call them.  I would never recommend them and not because of the equipment all equipment is unpredictable it's because of the way the OWNER responded. 

I am and will continue to get a full refund and I am willing to take this to small claims court.  I will not accept the way I was treated no one should.
