After checking the BBB on a financial group called the Royal Oak Financial Group, located in Troy, Michigan, and being assured by the BBB the company is located where they said to be located, that the company was legit and there had been no complaints, I followed through on a loan, just to be ripped off of a $1,000.
I don't understand how the BBB can have a company in there data base as being legit without checking the company out, at least go and see if there is a company at the address given. I understand we the tax payers pay for this service, and if we are given false representation then we should be able to do something about it, after all we are paying for it, also the companies who pay for the BBB logo are they able to pay off the BBB for a satisfactory report, who to say.
Anyway, I filed a complaint with the BBB on this particular company and according to rip off reports so did alot of other people, that was last week 06-08-2006, I called the BBB today to see if there were any complaints against this company, NO,NONE, how can this be I know I filed a complaint. In the meantime I see more people have been taken for there money because they are checking the BBB and seeing that this company is a legit company with no complaints.
There has to be away of stopping the BBB for falsly misrepresenting companies that don't exist. We have to be able to trust the BBB otherwise who can we trust to find out if a company is true or not. After knowing I was scammed I had the police in Michigan to check out the address I live in Missouri, within 24 hrs they let me know that the address was vacant, now why can't the BBB at least do that befor entering these companies into there directory as legit companies.
I would like to see a change, and I would like to see someone take the BBB on and change the way they do business I see these scams have been going on for along time and there is nothing we can do about it. Lets stop them by not letting them be known as a legit company

I called the BBB still no complaints on this company when I know I filed a complaint, maybe if they looked into it, or cared others wouldn't of got scammed
