Beach Resort Services Treat customers rudely, questionable business practices Clute Texas

I was two hours late checking out of the rental property. The rental company called me 6 times during those two hours, harassing me. I explained the first time they called that I would be checking out and that I was trying to finish cleaning and packing our vehicle. I explained that I understood that I was late and never objected to paying the penalty for being late. When I went to the office to check out, I apologized for being late. I was treated very rudely. As I was checking out my husband stayed behind to take the children to the beach. The house was locked yet my husband's truck was parked at the property. He was told by someone to move the vehicle off the property, once again being treated very rudely. He moved the vehicle to the end of the road. When I returned to my husband, I received ANOTHER phone call asking if we were on the property. I assured them we were not. I explained that my husband's truck was parked at the end of the road. They continued to question me, not believing that we were off the property. I asked why they were treating us so rudely. They threatened to call the police! They kept $100 of my deposit for being late and the remaining $100 for a broken lock which was already broken upon our arrival. I telephoned on our first day to tell them that the lock was broken. The certified letter regarding the refund of my deposit stated that they were keeping the deposit due to the late check-out and broken lock. There was no itemization of charges. Ethically, they do not treat customers fairly. I expect them to refund the $100 they claim is for a lock that we did NOT break. In addition, I contest the late penalty due solely to the fact that it was not stated anywhere in the contract what that late penalty would be.
