I hosted a "spa party" at my house. Hayley Skladanek was the BeautiControl consultant there. Party was great. However, I started getting complaints from the people at my party about their orders. Apparently, Hayley had signed two of the girls up to be consultants without their knowledge. The two girls were bombarded with phone calls and emails on how to be a BeautiControl Consultants for weeks. It took them 4 weeks to get their refund.
Hayley cashed all of our checks before submitting the orders and she would give us our refunds. I ordered a MicroDerm Abrasion skin set that came with a brush for your face. When I received my order, the brush was used!
I confronted her and she called me a drunk. She has yet to give all the refunds and orders to several other girls. I called BeautiControl and they have not done anything to reprimand her. In fact they claim that they are merely a supplier to the consultants and furthermore, these consultants do not have follow their return policy.
I have filed a complaint against them for misrepresentation. These independent consultants come into our homes and give us their sale's pitch on what Beauticontrol is and how they honor the 30 days money back guarantee. Yet, they are enforced to do so.
I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision for redistributing use personal hygiene products which could potential spread diseases. Do not order any from Hayley or BeautiControl.

Having used BeautiControl products for 24 years, I, at 69 years old, look much younger than others my age. BeautiControl prepares and provides magnificent products.
Blaming BeautiControl for the alleged actions of one of its independent contractors is like blaming the Ford Company for the alleged dishonesty of one salesperson.
I am also a Senior Consultant of BeautiControl; as independent contractors, we are not hired nor fired. As consultants we can maintain our consultant status as long as we order a certain amount of products over a certain period of time. I am certain others like me, proudly associated with BeautiControl, are incredulous about the alleged actions of Hayley Skladanek--selling a used brush, indeed!
It is impossible to sign up someone to be a consultant without her/his knowledge: payment for the training has to be included as part of the application process. Unfortunately, it appears the "girls" did not know what they were paying for. BeautiControl showed its integrity and reliability by returning the application fees. If Hayley was reprehensibly and disgustingly and rudely dishonest, BeautiControl and other consultants certainly are not to blame.
Although I am not an "employee," that seems to be the closest category.

I have been a consultant with BeautiControl since October 2006 and wish to apologize for the way that consultant acted. If she read her manual that we as consultants all receive, see would realize that BeautiControl has a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
They work hard to manufacture cutting edge products at reasonable prices and if a client has any complaints, they want to be notified. The proper thing to do would have been for the consultant to refund the clients and then contact BeautiControl herself to have them send a replacement product to herself.
As for signing people up as consultants without their knowledge, the people probably wanted a lot of products and she probably talked them into our "friends and family" program so they could receive $400-$500 worth of products for whatever the cost for joining was at that time(probably $99).
It is fine to do that but it is a big NO NO not to explain to them that when they fill out the agreement (which everyone has to do to become a consultant) then they officially become a consultant of BeautiControl. There is no way she could turn the agreement in without their knowledge because it requires a SSN and other private information that the consultant probably did not have access to. Either way, it was in poor taste how the consultant acted.
Hopefully, you will be willing to give our company another chance as it truly is a great company. I know I go above and beyond what is even required by BeautiControl to make a customer happy because a happy customer is a REPEAT customer 9 times out of 10.
Also for future reference here is a list of the top 4 people in BeautiControl and I am sure had you talked to them, they would have done whatever was in their power to make it right.

I have been a consultant with Beauticontrol for a year and a half and have done many spa parties. Beauticontrol is only the supplier and each consultant is responsible for their own actions. It is normal to prepay for your product which is ordered by the consultant. If you are unhappy with your product ,and you ask for a refund before 30 days have past from receiving the product, you should get your money back from the consultant. I have had someone return a product so I know that Beauticontrol will replace a product that has been returned by a customer so the consultant isn't at a total loss. I usually then use that returned product as a demo and then sell the new one to get my money back. Beauticontrol has been a wonderful company to deal with and I hope that you are not turned off our spa quality products by this one person. There are shady people in all walks of life. I'm not sure how she signed up people without their knowledge as Beauticontrol requires a signed consultant contract to be mailed or faxed. Beauticontrol is owned by Tupperware and I'm sure that they don't want to see their name tarnished. If you are unhappy with that consultant, you should try to contact beauticontrol's customer service again.

I too am sorry that the consultant you came in contact with obviously doesn't grasp the concept of our business. We buy from BeautiControl but we are independent consultants. Basically what happened to you would be the same thing as if you bought a bag of Cheetos from Walmart that were half eaten if Walmart didn't refund you you'd be mad at Walmart but would you stop buying those Cheetos that you love? If you really like the products don't let one person stop you. BeautiControl has great products & a great opportunity and I'd hate to have you miss out on looking & feeling great because of one person. There are hundreds of thousand consultants that do a great job & enjoy this business. Again I apologize for your experience and wish you nothing but the best.

I am an independent consultant. I am sorry for how she had treated you. I handle my customers if i do not know them I will make a pruchase through my website and have it shipped to the hostess I also call her up and give her the fed ex tracking number so that she knows when abouts she can expect it and where it is coming from which is DIRECTLY from our warehouse in Texas. I have her call me if there was something missing then i speak on her behalf to the company or she can call them if she prefers. I worked retail for years and customers come first.
With order i do take the payment information at the time of order. Sometimes if i have the product on hand i will give it the day/night of the party. That's how most consultants are. When i began i didn't have any product on hand and it was hard. I made sure my customer service was better letting them know when i'll be getting the product in, setting a meeting with each client to give the products.
Also Beauti Control does not have the power to "fire" anybody. The company is just like mary kay in that respect. We are basically wholesalers who work under Beauti Control and can move up with how many people a consultant signs up.
To me this consultant you filed a report on has shot herself in the foot with her early customers. You could have been a life long customer with skin care and she blew it.

I too, have had bad experience with a Consultant of BeautiControl. When I contacted BeautiControl HQ, they were very helpful and resolved my issue immediately. They have policies in place for all of there consultants to follow and are very strict in enforcing the policy. I find it very hard to believe that BC just overlooked this. The company serves hundreds of thousands of consumers and yet there's only one complaint on this website. I think that's a pretty good track record. I have used BC's products for years and will continue even after one bad experience.

All of the people from my party has finally gotten their refunds. It has taken 3 months and the refunds came from her executive director, Lana Kontos, not Hayley. BeautiControl HQ has not to this day reprimanded her and in fact promoted her instead. This company claims that they are merely suppliers to their independent consultants, but yet they promoted her in their company. What a bunch of liars. We'll see what the Ohio Attorney General has to say about their misrepresentation.
Her executive director has only given me excuses and the run around. I would never buy from BeautiControl and I will tell everyone I meet and know not to buy anything from them either.

I just started with BeautiControl and I apologize that your experience was so horrible. If she took credit card orders there is no reason why she shouldn't give a refund, we use a service for this. Absolutely no reason if she took cash or checks. I hate dishonesty. I would find out who her Unit Director is and then work from there to the top until you get a better solution or answer. I don't think that due to the nature of this business that Beauticontrol wants the clients to be unhappy, after all, you are the reason why we are in business in the first place. Good luck and please don't think that all consultants are like the one you dealt with.
