I have been following all of the complaints against Becky Acord all year and they all sound the same:  Extremely dishonest, not standing behind the horses she sells, DRUGGING horses, not returning phone calls and emails, horses being sold without coggins tests just to name a few.  I also have been a victim of Becky's and I filed my report over the summer.   I am also surprised that since many of us have been in touch with the Dept of Animal Health in the State of Mass regarding her sales of horses without coggins tests, that this dept has not gone after her by fining her and also shutting down her business.  It is now time to take action again Becky by taking her to court.  I will be talking to the victim from Troy and we will move forward with legal action.    I believe we need to ban together and go after her as a group and shut down her business once and for all!!  Becky, you can only screw people for just so long before your time is up and believe me, your time is up!!

You all are CRAZY!!!!!!

AUTHOR: Lindsey - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, February 22, 2013

I have been to their farm many times. The last thing I see is abuse. Her horses are fat and I agree with Sam it is the best hay I have seen around. She does save a few horses every year which is a wonderful thing. Find another dealer that does that. I cannot believe all of you are talking about her daughter that way!!!! She is a minor! She is a minor that had a great head on her shoulders, is a VERY talented rider and horse women. If you think for a second there is abuse there then you are dead wrong. The time before last I was there, there was a trainer and student looking at a horse. They wanted the horse to "move out" more and extend. With every stride they would tap, not hit but tap him with a dressage whip that they brought with them. Becky did not like that. She watched for a minute then had to go down and ask them to leave. I do think they were going to buy the horse. It made no difference. Becky told me after that the horse would have been miserable there. She could not do that. Those people can shop elsewhere. So she lost a deal to defend a horse. So abuse. I think not! Her horses are all very spoiled. I have seen it! I think that each person with a question or a problem with her should go there. See what it is all about. You would be pleasantly surprised. People can talk and rumors spread. About everyone. I do know other dealers that pay a lot of money to keep talk like this pushed off the search engines on the internet. I know she does not. She told me "if people want to believe it then they do not need to come here. If they choose to come, they will leave happy." I know myself and friends I have brought there have left happy.

Go Jessi! And everyone!

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, February 21, 2013

Oh Jessi I wish I knew who you were! So we could get together and talk! You are dead on about Becky and her daughter! They lie about everything! Becky is a pathological liar, who is raising her daughter to be the same way! Setting her up for disappointment. She is incredibly cruel to people and animals. She has no problem with what she does as long as she can make a buck. Becky doesn't care who or what she hurts to get what she wants! Has anyone contacted a news channel in her area? I only hope all you people can shut her down and stop her from selling horses. But to tell you the truth people like her will keep doing it, no respect for authority! Good luck! Keep it up! Stop Becky Shapiro Accord Peckham, and her daughter Taylor!

You obviously dont no what you are talking about.  You must not have called the State of Mass. regarding Becky Accord, Rocky Ledge Stables, which now of course she changed her stable name.  That doesnt matter because the state is well aware.
I have state papers to prove they are investigating her.
She will be closed down, this cant come soon enough.
We were totally screwed by her.  Paid 7500 for a  horse and had to put 2,500 into additional vet bills.  To say the least, we were screwed just like others.  Oh and no papers either and she did not have a valid license to sell.

Jessi is a fake and has no brain

AUTHOR: Sam - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, February 18, 2013

Jessie- First off you cannot BUY a congress top ten jacket. You have to show your medal to get one. They are VERY strict about that. Second, My stable was there as I was also for most of the show that year. I was there when they were packing and heading out. I saw NO tears. I saw a happy greatful kid that was helping more then any other child there. Third, Taylor does not have a top ten jacket. It is a finalist jacket. That means top 15. That would be in trail. If you really were there you would know that. Congress pins top 10 however in EVERY class there is a thing called finalist. That is top 15. Learn the facts before you make a a*s of yourself here. Her jacket clearly states that. Fourth, her main vet is Dr. Harry Werner. If you would like to take things up with him about being 'paid' off I just dare you. He is extremely credible and professional. I hope he will see this and believe me he does not take things like this lightly. Fifth, not feeding????? Really??? She gets the best hay I have yet to see and the grain is far from poor. She feeds heavily. If you see a poor looking horse there maybe it has just arrived and had a hard trip. She is a better feeder then most I have seen. Jealousy is a terrible thing. I am a customer of hers as well as a show buddy as well as now a friend. My family has bought 4 horses from her and the stable I am at has bought at least 7. Not one we have a complaint about. Since I am a friend I have read this to her. She laughed. She does know someone in Rising Sun that went to congress to watch. What a joke. She also told me that someone that is now in rising sun stole from her, cheated her out of a vet bill that Becky was kind enough to cover for her and was never paid back, AND the horse that was purchased from Becky was never paid in full!!!!!!!! Wow, "Jessi" You are quite a girl. I do think you have way more to worry about in your life now. There is a thing called karma. May it hit you hard.

You have made it very clear to everyone here that you are a family friend, member, or maybe Becky herself. Who knows with all the lies she makes up. I have experienced it first hand riding with her when I was younger, AND her daughter, who I may add, is JUST LIKE BECKY. Becky drugs horses, under feeds them, I have seen her pay off her vet. And you must be stupid or something if you believe that nobody does that. Really? People do that ALL THE TIME. Taylor is exactly like Becky, and is excellent at lying also. She brought a horse to Congress, the AQHA show, and since the horse didn't win, walked out their bawling her eyes out, and made her Mommy buy her a VERY expensive "Top 10" jacket, to go tell everyone she made it in the Top 10, clearly a lie since I watched the competition myself. Don't let her fool you. Maybe you should read the other 10 reports.

Lets set the record straight

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 21, 2011

Karen you must be a family member, friend or even Becky herself in disguise trying to do some serious damage control!!  My first question is WHICH state did you contact?  If it really was the state of Massachusettes Dept of Animal Heath you would have seen record of my complaint as well as the complaints of several other people who were sold horses without coggins tests, which as you stated is illegal.   And because of all my correspondence were in writing with my name, address and phone numer, if in fact they did find a copy of the horse's coggins test, it would have been extremely easy to track me down, call me and mail it to me.  So to say that they were unable to reach me after 30 days is completely false!!  I am speaking the truth on this site and all of my allegations are backed up with copies of all the letters I have sent to the Mass Dept of Animal Health as well as the Mass Attorney General's Office and their return correspondence.

You are also completely out numbered because Becky Acord has quite a few complaints listed against her on this site from different people from different states who all have very similar stories of how Becky lied to them, mis-represented the horses she sold and last but not least did give coggins tests on the horses she sold.  It would also seem odd to me that so many different people would just decide to lie or make things up about Becky Acord if in fact it didn't happen to them.   I also agree with you about keeping Becky's daughter out of this.  This situation does not involve her daughter and I have no interest in putting a child into this mess!  You can continue to do damage control if you wish, but it very apparent who is speaking the truth here!!

Some people!

AUTHOR: Karen - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, December 19, 2011

Well I just read through all these. I immediately contacted the state as I have another trip planned to visit her barn. They oddly have no record of any of this. They said there was a report made and in the follow up with Becky Acord they found nothing wrong. Every horse had a coggins test and they told me she keeps excellent records and showed tests on the previously sold horses. I asked specifically about a horse in NY. They knew what I was talking about and they said the test was done. The buyer possibly received it with the horse. They could not prove that though. However Becky did have a copy in her records. The buyer was not able to be reached so after 30 days they gave up. I am just a perspective buyer who yes has bought from her before and has had great purchases. It is amazing how some people can make things up that hurt others so badly and it is a bunch of stories. I hate this site for that. It is truly unfortunate. I am glad I talked to the state instead of assuming what others say is fact. Oh and I agree with others. You cannot choose other peoples friends and putting in all those names really makes you look dumb. Also her kids. Honestly! Grow up. Never include children. Hers were amazing the few times I met them. Good for her daughter for winning at the shows. She is a spectacular little rider who deserves every win she gets. Lets see the other kids at the shows try and ride the horses she gets. I also do remember 2 of them being sale horses. 1 was super mean! She turned him around. Good for her!!!

Buyer beware is an understatement!

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, December 19, 2011

I have no jealousy what so ever towards Becky Acord.   I am all for people succeeding in the horse business whether is be selling, showing, breeding, etc as long as it is done with honesty and pride.  I salute those people.  My issue is that Becky was dishonest, did not stand behind what she sold and broke the law by not selling the horse with a coggins test.  I filed a complaint with the Massachusettes Dept of Animal Health and after they conducted an investigation it was determined that the horse did not have a coggins test.  She lied to me telling me he did and that she would get it from the horseshow office at Mt. Holyoke College the following weekend when she would be back at another horseshow there.  Well, that never happened and she never forwarded his coggins, because he never had one!  Like I have stated before, I have bought horses before from other horsedealers who stood behind their horses and were  honest because they understood the importance of their reputation and repeat customers!!  Becky Acord gives a bad name to horsedealers.   As for "buyer beware" yes most deffinately especially when doing business with Becky Accord!!  And for hiding behind a computer screen, I went directly to Becky's farm with the horse in tow because she refused to answer my phone calls and return my many messages!  She was the one who was not brave enough to face me in person while I was standing in her own driveway!!  And the rumor that she may be leaving the area and moving to Virginia.  Of course, she has screwed so many people in shadey horse dealings in the Northeast that she has to move to another area before she ends up in jail!!  Good ridence!!

Some people are unbelievable!

AUTHOR: Karen - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 13, 2011

I cannot even believe what I am reading! Pay off a vet! That is insane. No one does that and certainly to her vet which is the same vet I use. have done business there for years and she always has the same policy. Sh ALWAYS suggests a PPE to be done and by ANY vet you choose. Her vet dose happen to be one of the best and I dare anyone to accuse him to his face that he is getting paid off. Also, papers. Really! If you do in fact have the wrong papers, do something about it. It is highly illegal and if she has done that she would not be in business any longer. Some people have big mouths on paper, or screen but not face to face, Why, because they are full of hot air, lies. Maybe it is jealousy. Oh and anyone who brings a child into it like her daughter is scum. Of course her daughter is #1 to her. I would hope anyones kids would be. Her daughter is a super talented young rider who is NOT a professional but a young girl born in the saddle who again, jealousy is a terrible thing. She usually does very well at any show she goes to. I do recall though each of her horses were sale horses that did not sell. She got the "rejects" and made something of them. As far as putting the other dealers names in there. That is cheap. Who cares who is friends with who. Again jealousy. I have personally bought 2 horses from there and when I need another, that is where I will go. My mother just purchased one there 3 months ago. What a wonderful experience again. Many horse shows I go to it is horses from her stable that are winning. They may come from auctions at some time in their life but really what horse has not at some point. There are very nice, very fancy auctions out there that sell nicer horses then you could ever dream of owning. I also love how people can do the bashing and then hide behind a screen name. Funny funny funny. Come forward you cowards. Of course not when you are making up craziness out of ummmm jealousy.

And Beware....

AUTHOR: NoReally - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, December 11, 2011

She thinks NOTHING of selling a horse with papers from another animal. It is no secret that people buy and sell horse registration papers quite a bit, but really do your research before a purchase is finalized. DO NOT use her Vet, from CT. She pays him a very nice amount each year, making sure he does PPE's on the majority of all horses she sells and in return, clean PPE and the horse sells... really a clever situation ;). Bring your own vet, if you are going to spend thousands on a new horse, get a PPE with your own vet. Another thing, an oversized Quarter Horse frequently becomes an "American Warmblood"... strange how a horse's breed can change! And coggins... make sure you have it in your hand BEFORE you leave the yard, and make sure it is an original. If you are having a horse delivered, make sure you actually get it from the driver... otherwise you will never see it..

The Reality is...

AUTHOR: NoReally - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, December 10, 2011

This woman is trash. I am not shocked by what I have read. And yes, the people who are singing her praises have either gotten very lucky or are good friends with her, and her daughter(s). Her friends? Crowley's, The Strain Family, Bruce Gonyaw (in VT-if you trade something in, it will most likely go here, along with her rejects), Ryon Simon of Minnesota (Google that name for some interesting info--he is one of her buyers), Brenda Coggin (Coggin Creek Stable) of Westfield MA (has done the trucking for her from time to time).

She is extremely good at lying, so well that she can barely keep her stories straight anymore. Worse yet-Her older daughter is following right in her footsteps and knows exactly what to do and say~she is pro! Don't believe a word these people tell you. Nearly EVERY horse comes from an auction ring and 95% of the time there is NO background on these animals of course. None of the barn names they have are one's they came with.  She has other places she puts horses if she needs them to hide out for a while or they are sick. So many have Strangles and other issues.

The patience and kindness one of you mentioned seeing?? You have got to be kidding me? Maybe with the mini's...If she dislikes a horse, the poor animal knows it... she would rather sell the animal in the auction ring than put anytime into finding the right home for it. She should not be a 4-H leader, like she brags about. Worst sportsmanship ever, her daughter always needs to be #1. As for calling ASPCA on her, or MSPCA? Good luck, the investigator is a friend.. People, do your research. Don't buy from her. If you already have and your horse is sound and healthy, and hasn't tried to kill you? Consider yourself lucky.... Just a head's up, rumor has it she is planning on moving..maybe Virginia or that area??

I wish you all good luck....

POSTED: Thursday, December 08, 2011

You are obviously a close friend or family member reporting.  HAVE YOU READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS NOT ONLY ON THIS SITE BUT OTHERS.  You mention about her license, well my ATTORNEY has proof that she was not licensed when we bought our horse.  She received her license once she knew what was going on.  Also; we are all getting together to take her to court, she doesnt have a leg to stand on.  I tried to be reasonable with her with no avail.  She left us no choice.  We have more State Departments involved in this; so everything is well documented.  And you are right BUYER BEWARE, my bad I didnt do enough research before I threw 9,000 dollars away.

Bought another horse:-)

AUTHOR: Karen - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 06, 2011

We recently went to Becky for yet another horse. This is now our 3rd one in 4 years as we have 4 children and they now each have their own horses. I can tell you we will NEVER shop anywhere else. She takes excellent care in matching the right horses and people. There are now 12 horses in our stable that came from her and every one of them is exactly perfect. As far as drugs, lameness, etc, she always recommends pre purchase vettings. We did do that on each of ours. She gives names and numbers of a few vet in her area for us to take back to our vet and choose from. Or we can bring our own or anyone we choose. Never a bad experience. I know for a fact she is licensed as when we were there one day the license was in view and I had commented on it as it is huge! Looks like a license plate. Thought it was funny. Anyway, I do believe there are jealous people out there who do make things up to make others sound bad. I do also believe people do not understand these are living animals! They act different everywhere you take them. She is a quiet person with a quiet way about her. Horses like and trust her. It is actually quite a amazing thing to watch. We saw one horse she had in for training and wow! It was impressive. Anyway, I would recommend her and her farm anytime:-)

POSTED: Monday, November 28, 2011

All of these reports sound the same as what I have experienced at Rocky Ledge. I do wish I would have looked her up before doing business with her. Shame on me I suppose as she is not hard to find. Type her name in a Google search and its all there. It does amaze me that she continues doing business this way after hearing how many customers are angry with her. Being a horse trader is a hard business in its self without adding all the dishonesty and the failure to stand behind your word. Her practices speak for themselves and its no surprise after reading everyone elses complaints that I too will be filing a complaint with the department of Agriculture. Finding out the hard way that this woman doesnt want to play nice. She is only looking at making a buck rather than building clientele through good horsemanship practices. It makes me sad that I have to deal this way. How do I contact you to talk about your plans to move forward with legal action?

ROCKY LEDGE STABLES; I AM SUING AND WILL ALSO BE PART OF YOUR LAWSUIT

AUTHOR: Dotty - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, November 27, 2011

There has been nothing but complaints regarding this individual.  I contacted the Depart. of Agri. a few weeks back and I was told they are still investigating.  When we bought our horse she wasnt even licensed to sell horses.  You need a license if selling, I believe, its ten horses a year or more.  Im sure she pushes more than ten horses a year thru her barn, with all her lies.  When I followed up with the Dept. of Agri. she supposingly got her license just shortly after we bought our horse, they must have sent her a letter or something.  Lets all get together, she needs to stop immediately.  No coggins given to us; our first horse was completely nothing as she portrayed him to be then when we went back to return him of course we had to pay more money for another horse, and this horse was not cheap, and this guy was extremely sick, immediately when we got him home, paying thousands in vet bills on top of the huge money spent for a show horse.
