Bellsouth took over a week to correct a phone problem told three times it would be fixed had to hound them North Carrollton Mississippi

I returned from vacation to find that my phone wasn't working. I reported it immediately on Sunday, January 5th. I was told my phone would be working by Saturday.

My phone was still not working Saturday evening. I called again and was told by a supervisor that my phone would be fixed by 7:00 p.m. and that a technician would call me if needed. I have caller id on my cell phone and voicemail....no call was ever made to me.

I called again Saturday night and was very frustrated and upset. I spoke with another supervisor Sunday and was assured that a techinician would fix the problem at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning. Once again I left my phone number to be contacted when the technician arrived. Once again I came home Monday night and no dial tone on my phone.

By this time I am furious. I called and spoke with another supervisor. They sent a technician out Tuesday after I called another 5 times. This was terrible business and should have been done when I was told it would be. The only time I was contacted by a technician was Tuesday. The other three times I was not contacted and I had asked to be and was told I would be.

I have had to deal with Bellsouth on many occasions, both personal and business related. I have determined one of their major problems is that they are laying off technicians like crazy and overworking the ones they have left even though they now must deal with more phones lines than ever.

I have never once been impressed by their "promise" to fix a problem by a certain time. It usually takes several days to a week or more 'after' their promised date to get things fixed. In some cases, the problems don't get fixed.

If the world relies on communications so much, shouldn't Bellsouth (and others) have the techs in place to handle problems in a timely manner?
