As previously stated, I have a written contract, signed by John Altman, specifying the exact work that was to be done and the exact materials that were to be purchased.  I have a written receipts as well as photographic evidence of exactly what materials were received, and what work was performed.  You failed to deliver the contracted materials, failed to perform the contracted labor, and damaged my home with your substandard work.

If you are a legitimate business, why do you have an F rating from the Better Business Bureau?

Why is there no address listed for your business on your website? 

Why aren't you licensed? 

Why aren't you insured? 

The facts are that you have ripped off several people in exactly the same manner - you took there money and took off - a fact easily verifiable by a little web searching.

I urge you to return the money you have stolen from me and your other customers, and I urge anyone who might be considering doing business with John Altman to seriously reconsider or risk being robbed.

Mr DeAngelo is correct, No one has the right to be ripped off, So he should READ his contract again, Compare the cabinets he received to list of cabinets he purchased and see that he got what was purchased, list All the Extras he had done, deduct his $3200 for the granite and mail us a check for the $2600 or so balance he has !!!! And For the Record There has never been or will be a name changed on our business, We keep this name and have been doing business under this name for over 6 years, And in that time period have over 800 customers with only 3 dissatisfied customers !!!!!!!  Our record speaks for itself !! This is why we conduct upward of 750K in business per year. Our company maintains one of the best satisfaction records in our industry !!! And some of the lowest prices in the industry, this is why we are always busy even when our industry is at an all time low.

I have a written contract, signed by John Altman, specifying the exact work that was to be done and the exact materials that were to be purchased.  I have the cancelled check and written receipt for the $10,000 that John Altman took from me and dated pictures of my kitchen, which John Altman wrecked and left in a state of disaster. 

Perhaps I should have know better then to deal with an unlicensed, fly-by-night crook like John Altman (variously been reported to have lived in Bayport and Bohemia), but that doesn't give him the right to steal $10,000 from me.  I urge anyone planning on conducting ANY professional or personal business with John Altman to reconsider - you are taking a big risk with a thief.

Mr Rich DeAngelo contracted for a simple kitchen renovation to include removing his cabinets and replacing them with new cabinets and a new granite top for a fee of approx. $12,600.00, After picking his cabinets and granite choices decided to change the cabinet layout on a whim from his girlfriend only a few days before delivery of his already order cabinets (Delay #1)

Then the 2nd day of the renovation mr DeAngelo informs me the sink that was supposed to be there on hand was just ordered and will be delivered within 2 weeks !!!! (Bad Planning) His cabinets and countertops were removed the 1st day and installation started the 2nd day, most of the cabinets were installed day 2, on the 3rd day of the job mr DeAngelo's girlfriend decides she wants to move a few lights in the room (Extra work) While opening up the ceiling to move some lights a cut beem was discovered and needed to be fixed to complete the project (More Extra work) The ceilings were replaced after replacing the beem and moving the lights, then the next day the girlfriend decided she wanted to replace ALL the lights and swap them over to a smaller fixture !! Now the entire ceiling had to be removed a 2nd time to replace all the lighting with different sized fixtures (more Extra work)!!!!

Finally after all this merigoround was complete the sink arrives and is the wrong type for his cabinets (as advised) and a new sink base cabinet needs to be ordered !!!! (more delays and expense ) The new cabinet was ordered and in the mean time the girlfriend decides she wants a bigger refrigerator and wants a new bigger cabinet for above the fridge, Which happens to be between 2 doorways and at the very edge of each !!! meaning 1 of the doorways needed to be made smaller for the 2nd time !!!! And also made to small to ever get any appliances in or out of the room !!!

In the beginning mr DeAngelo was advised the project would take 2 to 3 weeks NOT days. As any kitchen renovation that would include a granite counter top, As anyone knows who has ever had granite done. typical lead time for the counter top alone is 2 to 3 weeks after the cabinets are installed !!!  (a standard in the industry) Unfortunately with all mr DeAngelo's delays from himself and his girlfriend the project was delay after delay every time they seen something different !!!!

Mr DeAngelo's original contract was $12,600.00 and we were paid $10,000 for the job, the part mr DeAngelo neglects to mention is with all his extras he asked for and agreed to pay for his job total was $15,800.00 which left him a balance of $5,800.00 which has not been paid, and mr DeAngelo wants his money back for his $3,200.00 granite top which was included in the original contract price.

Mr. DeAngelo was informed of his balance after requesting his money back for his granite ($3,200) and was told he would be credited back the $3,200.00 leaving him a balance of $2,600.00 for all the additional work agreed to by himself and his girlfriend. He was told to keep the balance and agreed to find another contractor to finish his project because the delays incurred on his project were prohibiting us from working on other projects that were scheduled and being delayed as a result of his constant changes.

My company provides kitchen cabinets and kitchen projects to nearly 200 customers per year with a success rate of 99.5%......... Every once in a while we run into a customer that is impossible to please like every other company doing business with the general public. But we do have one of the best success rates in our industry and do a much higher volume of business than 80% of our competition !!!!

Although Mr. DeAngelo might feel he got ripped off by our company he needs to understand that most other companies would have walked away from his project much sooner and would not have had the patients to put up with all his games as long as we did !!! We run a business that requires schedules and plans and when choices and details are changes on a whim daily it is impossible to maintain schedules and deadlines !!!

So now that his complaint has a complete detailed explanation of how his project went you can make an educated decision about my company and weather or not your interested in doing business with us and enjoying the savings and products we provide to nearly 200 other satisfied customers per year !!!
