Beltone hearing Care Centers Charges $549.50 for FREE trail hearing aids Venice Florida

My mom, who is 91, took Beltone Hearing Care Centers offer for a free hearing aid trial for 30 days only to find out that it cost her $549.50. When she went for her hearing test, they said, "Well dear, you're in luck because the state of Florida provides a 30-day trial period and money-back guarantee." The point that was conveniently neglected and should have been explained in detail was the fact that it would cost her $549.50 to return the FREE aids. The cancellation fee was never discussed or my mom would not have walked out of the facility with their hearing aids.

After researching the Florida law, I find they are within the law to charge for the return on the free trial aids, however, that point should have been fully discussed and understood. The point was never mentioned. Your question, wasn't it in the contract that your mother signed? Yes, it was and therefore, I realize we have no recourse but to pay their return fee. The contract should mandate that the recipient of the trial aids sign the line that corresponds with the fact that he or she will be charged for the free trail aids. The presentation was completely misleading and unethical.

The local Beltone office charges you the day you walk out with the aids, however, the refund must be dealt with through the corporate office and "may take up to a month." She has been waiting for her refund for over 2 months!

It is another scam to take advantage of older people. They stole from my mother who has a very limited income.
