If you are contacted by Beneficial Health Group and told you are approved for a credit card with a "one time fee" of $299, with a credit limit of $2000, hang up the phone! This is a total scam!
This company misleads the consumer into believing he or she is buying a Mastercard or Visa for $299, and will receive a bonus health care discount card. In fact, they are selling you the discount card for $299, and you will only receive an application for a visa/mastercard - you haven't been approved yet!!
They will record your conversation with the "verification department" (actually just a slimy call centre supervisor). They say it is "for your protection," but they are actually trying to protect themselves. They don't mention the credit card at all. Instead they make the customer agree on tape to paying $299 for the package that will arrive in 15-20 days. The package doesn't include a credit card! Only the "bonus" health card. You're not getting what you paid for!!
Don't fall into this trap! These are crooks! Beware, and let's put an end to this horrible fraud!!

I stop payment on the check for 299. Especially when I heard all the fraud statements.
They are sending letters to my creditors letting them know I am with their counseling service.
I dont want them to represent me in debt management and I called their toll free # and verbally cancelled the account and stopped payment on their check.
Now I have to go and clean up their mess, by sending these letters out.
Please help
