AON Affinity Travel Insurance would have you believe , by their advertisement , that their travel interruption insurance would reimburse your travel expenses for any reason. In the fine print however, are incredibly restrictive conditions requiring documents protected under HIPAA law as well as Employment Privacy Policy that would make a claim reimbursement next to impossible to achieve. This is the nature of their ripoff.
I paid $58 for travel interruption insurance from them. When my wife could not make the trip because of threats of termination at her work, The Berkely group would not honor my policy. After I spent hours filling out their claim form, a denial letter was received. I want to warn others who might feel that this company will reimburse them not matter what, that this is not the case. They do not make clear in their ad that only certain conditions apply like death, and you need a coroner's report, sickness, and you need a doctor's full report , violating HIPAA law. The insurance is a ripoff plain and simple . Please warn others not to include this in their travel plans because they will never see that money again.

Robert,
The point I am trying to make is that they would have
a consumer believe that they would reimburse for any reason
even if your b***h had puppies. You do know that there
are companies and policies who do this, don't you, or are you
one of those a*****e intellectuals with not an ounce of common sense.
All I needed to prove is that the flight was cancelled. Why
do they need to know I was at the Proctologist's
at the time getting a finger shoved Up my a**?
after review of the "conditions "in retrospect,
job loss was one of them. What kind of p****would
contend with someone who might have lost their job
and just wants his$58 back? You must work for one
of these companies who practices deceptive advertising
and loves to rip off the otherwise trusting public.
i don't appreciate the tone , sarcasm or misspelling
of the word "lose" In your a**holish rebuttal.
get a spell-checker and a refund from the private school your
parents paid for, moron.

- Oh really. So if your 2nd cousin's dog had puppies and you had to go to the store to buy dog food and missed your flight that would be a covered reason..right? After all you said ANY reason.
No..you say that is silly of course it doesn't cover that. Well that is not what you said now is it.
The fact is that the "restrictive" reasons are on ANY insurance policy. While I have no idea what your specific policy stated I can guarantee you that it probably covered something like "Job LOSS". But NO where did it state or even leave a remote impression(to normal thinking people) that the "threat" of loosing your job was covered. After all, if that was the case what would keep someone from saying "You know I just really don't want to go on this trip..umm so what should I do". Oh yea, I will just say that there is a "THREAT" to my job and the insurance will cover it.
Of course if you say I am wrong, then I really hope you point out the document(s) that you got from the insurance company that gave you the impression that just a threat of loosing your job was covered...oh and yes this site has the ability to post scanned images.
As for the rest of your claims. Yes, I am sure it covered death. But again like ANY insurance policy they are going to want proof..in the form of a Death Certificate. After all, would you call a life insurance company "restrictive" if they asked for a Death Certificate before they paid on the claim?
But your biggest error is on the Medical. Yes, I bet it covered medical reasons that said you can't go. But contrary to what you seem to think HIPAA is, there is NOTHING illegal about asking for proof. HIPAA has to do with the protection of your medical records, but it does not deny you access to them. Nor does it forbid you from giving your records to someone else. So yes, if they want proof you were in the doctor and couldn't travel they have that right...they just have to get you to authorize it. The ONLY case there would be a violation is if they went to your doctor and your doctor provided the records to them WITHOUT your authorization.
