Best Brand Values hotbooksale.com Purchased two paperback books and have been charged $19.95 on my credit card for 24 months. Would only issue a 6 month refund. Boca Raton Florida

I did an internet search to buy a couple of books for my daughter, and bought them from hotbooksales.com.  I never thought of the company again, until my husband reviewed our credit card statements and realized we had been paying a charge of $19.95 per month to a company called Best Brand Values for 22 months.  

$440 is quite a bit to pay for two children's paperback books.  We called the company to find out why they were taking our money, and they said I had purchased the books in 2012.  I had no recollection of ever agreeing to join a club or pay a monthly fee.  Why would I agree to pay a monthly fee for membership to a group that sells books for no less than I can buy them on half.com or Amazon?  

The company agreed to refund 6 months worth of the charges, but the customer service representative said it is their policy to limit refunds to that amount.  I will have to write a letter to the company to go any further.  

The customer service representative was difficult to understand, and tried to tell me that the address for the company was PO Box 810, 365 Boca Raton, Florida.  So she is obviously from another country and is not familiar with addresses in the United States.  I tried to explain to her that there is no city called 365 Boca Raton, and she insisted that was the address I needed to send it to.  

I have never knowingly signed up for this "service" and after reading about it, it is of no value to me whatsoever.  This kind of business practice is fraudulent and I cannot believe it is still legal.
