I had a very negative experience with this agency. I took my entire family to the Adoption Show at Petsmart in Beltsville MD. We spent at least 45 mins with the foster parent and the dog we were interested in adopting. I asked what were the next steps and she told me to email Joanne when I got home if I was still interested in the dog. They will review all applications and perform home site visits to make sure the fence does not have any holes where the dog could get out and see where we would place the crate. This was around 2:30pm Now I was a dog owner for 13 years. I have trained and raised the same type of dog we were interested in adopting. At 5:52pm I sent the email to let them know we were still interested in the dog.By 6:30pm they replied that they a lot of applications for the dog and they were pursuing another family. Now what I find interesting is that in that they reviewed all the application in this short amount of time and have made a decision without even doing a home visit. This was not the only dog at the show so I know there were many more applications to review. After that all they said was sorry for the disappointment and we hope you find a great dog soon. They did not ask if we were interested in any other dog at the show or if they could put our name on a waiting list. I replied and asked why we were not chosen as a
potential adopter. I never received a reply. This was our second adoption show and we were very welcomed by the other agency and even my 14 yr old could see that. Now another thing I found interesting is that this dog was taken to the
shelter at 2 mos old and he is 9 mos old now and still not adopted? I just happen to send an email from my daugthers account last night to see if the dog was still available and if he would be at their next show. Guess what their response was? "He is available and will be most likely at our next show". So my conclusion is that they are prejudice because we are African American or they are using this dog to bring people to the shows as a ploy. They need to be investigated! There are other complints on (((REDACTED)))
