I bought a vehicle from this company that was damaged prior to the purchase and I did not no about it until I drove it in the rain. It turns out that there was damage to the rear axle before I purchased the vehicle.

I tried on several instances to have them fix the problem by paying for the damage or by taking the vehicle back. This did not work and I have still continued to drive the vehicle with damage and it is dangerous to drive. I really regret to have to do this but I have no other way to get the money I deserve for this and plus it is also about ethical customer services.

Car fixed

AUTHOR: Jeremy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 15, 2004

The car has been fixed by an honest mechanic that he did on his own. He and I both saved money. I have not received a check from Best Ford and I have given up. Please make sure you know who you are dealing with when going to a car dealership (personally for a couple years is BEST)

Forgiven but not accurate

AUTHOR: Jeremy - (U.S.A.)

In response to Best Ford's rebuttal I want to say that I also tried to contact the man who sold the car to Best Ford. I could not get a hold of him neither could the department of transportation.

Also I brought the vehicle back to Best Ford within two weeks of purchase! I told the salesperson that I would be completely satisfied if he took this one back and I could get a different one or they could pay for the work to be done. Following this the salesperson told me to bring it the volkswagon dealer because they could help.

Finally, after two or three times going to the dealer for help I brought it in to be fixed! They said it would be fixed free of charge. At this time they made me sign the contract and it said I would have to pay $70 or $75 per hour (I dont recall the exact amount) They said that this $70 or $75 had to be on the contract for legal issues and from my understanding this is not true. After this I made a decision to not let them take the car because I believed I would be legally bound to pay them the $70 or $75 per hour.

I have forgiven Best Ford for what they have done. At this time I would not refer anyone to purchase a vehicle from them and I keep telling people the circumstances behind the instances.

Update to anyone reading this: I am getting the vehicle fixed tomorrow. A friend (who is a mechanic) is going to fix it. After it is finsihed I am going to sell it. Many have said to trade it in without fixing it because most dealers would not even knowby looking at it. I would feel unethical if I did that though. Plus it would be dangerous to drive and if someone got in an accident I would feel responsible even though the damage was not caused by me. If anyone has questions emaile me at belt777@hotmail.com. My advics is to take all vehicles to a mechanic, read the book "clark smart" and if possible buy from a salesperson you already know and trust.

Finally, I could still be happy and satisfied if Best sent me a check for $1800. I would prefer not to go in because I made a mistake trusting the salesperson and the company and I am usually a decent judge of character. Although, I do wish the company continued growth and success in the future. I do understand the business they are in because I have a few friends that sell cars and I know it is not an easy profession. No matter what happens I have learned a lot from the experience

car with $1800.00 damage, we tried to work with him on this and never shows up

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

In regards to the car sold with damage, first we offered many times to help fix this problem. second the customer would never bring the car in for us to take care of it. I know that if it was me i would have brought the car back right away and not waited. when we sell a car and the customer has a trade in by law we are required to ask certain questions one of which is, does your car have any body or structural damage, if the person trading the car in says no we have to take the customers word for it. we have contacted the person that traded the car in and he swears up and down the car was not damaged. the new owner of this car did not mention the damage for for quite sometime after the sale. which leads me to believe that he might have actually done the damage himself.we tried to work with him on this and never shows up. what would you think?
