Best Home Services, Inc. Overcharged and Scammed , Halethorpe, , Maryland

On July 21, 2011. I called Best Home Services to arrange to have mt furniture cleaned, mainly to remove odors. I was told they were running a special and it would cost me $39.99 for the sofa and $19.99 for the chair. They arranged for the
technician to arrive at my home on Saturday July 24th. I got a call from a techinician named John that said he was on the way, so we moved the furniture to prepare for the visit. When he got to my house, he said that for the type of
furniture I have, there was no way he could do it for 69.98. He told me it was really nice furniture and I should be charged $500 because he can easily go up to Potomac MD and get paid that by rich people. He said my furniture, which is
secondhand, is classic and deserves special treatment. I told him I just want the deal that was given me. He said no, not for my furniture because the product he uses would not work. He said, look, you are wasting my time, I need to know what you can pay.

 I explained that I was laid off and could not afford much, but that I just wanted the smell out of my sofa from children peeing on it. He said he said some awesome stuff and that he would give me a written gurantee and if it did not
work, he would return and do it free. He said he could take no less than $500 but cold do it for $200. I said it was high but I would. I went for my checkbook and he said it had to be cask only. I told him they told me otherwise. he said for the
"discount" it had to be cash only and he was not going to touch my furniture until I went to the ATM to get it. So I went. When I got back in about 15mins, he was done. It smellled very very perfumey, but I explained that I have a sensitive nose and that I could still smell the underlying odor. He told me I was crazy and that there was no way. He took the money, gave me a receipt and warranly and left.

When the furniute dried in about 30 hours, the odor returned. I called the office on August 1st and explained. I was toldl that they no longer employ the person that cleaned the furniture but he was apparently using their paperpwork. They said his wife just had a baby, so they know he is busy, but they woudl have him call me. He never called. I called back the next day and was told since he used their paperwork, they would come out, but would have to charge me the $69.98. I made an appt, no show. I called back several times, the last time on 3/7/2012 and I was told they would have someone come on 3/3/12. No show again. I called back and explained all the issues. She said she would have someone come out and asked what the issue was. When I explained, she said Oh, I am going to have to have you talk to a supervisor. I gave her my number again. I never heard back.
