The worst moving experience of my life. I moved my family and they held our goods hostage for days until we came up with 11,000 in cash to get it back, it was straight out of a horror movie. We literally had to call the police, but they couldn't help us because they said it was civil. I had to move hell over high water to come up with that money. They also lost parts of my bed, broke countless items. They are pirates on wheels and take no responsiblity. I even spoke to the owner who refused to give me a refund unless I signed documents saying that I woudn't leave a negative review-how do you live withourself ripping off others. Had my children's photos and ultrasounds not been there I wouldn't have paid the ransom.

They are not movers. They are moving brokers. In my experience, moving brokers rip off everyone. They collect fees for a job you can do in less than one day by researching actual movers and getting written quotes. The written quotes are not given over the phone or over the internet. The actual mover needs to come to your home, see your stuff and give you a binding quote. This scam of holding your furniture hostage is common with moving brokers. There are other scams too including changing the price from the 'contract' to the actual delivery even if the furniture is delivered right away.
If you go to the website for the moving broker you chose, you see at the very bottom of the website that they are not movers at all, just brokers. Next time you decide to move, check out the DOT number to make sure you are speaking to an actual moving company. There are lots of moving scammers out there and no one to protect you unless you do your homework right up front. Google moving scams. It is everywhere, but especially here in Florida where moving brokers seem to be everywhere presenting themselves as movers.
