It will work....

You CAN get that to work. It will just take some reading on the net and some time. StarBand is PICKY when it comes to routers. They don't like you to use them. There is a way to do it.. i've seen it done. It has something to do with MAC address cloning. You will have the same issues with ANY router that you purchase. At Best Buy, 99.9% of ISP's are compatable with routers. This is what employees are taught. So if they don't know toooooo much about computers/networking they can only give a basic answer. Ask the Geek Squad next time you go to Best Buy about that... the might know. Also, ask StarBand if they sell an updated modem that can support routers. I KNOW they have their own Modem/router... thats why they tell you that it WONT work at all.

Easy problem to fix

Sorry your netgear router doesn't work with your equipment. You are in luck Best Buy will refund your money on this product from 30 days after you purchased it. You could also exchange the netgear router for one made by linksys or d-link. All 3 of these brands are good, and all three of these brands have individuals that prefer one to another. I have seen similar problems before, where the router and modem share an IP address, and one has to be reset. Unless you have a decent amount of networking experience, I would simply exchange for another brand.
