Me and others paid $2995 ($1295 as partner) to be able to do papertrades during a 2 day class with Better Trades aka Long Term Short Term. THIS SOUNDS LIKE AN EXACT CLONE OF OPTIONETICS (do search on ripoff report) This 2 day class is the reason for PAYING IN THE FIRST PLACE. Seminar was in January, class for everyone was scheduled in February. During the seminar, we were told to figure a way to take off work that we really NEEDED to go to this class to do Options papertrades.

All of us are pumped up about the class and can't wait. However when we get to the class, the same thing that Optionetics did happened. The whole class revolved around the use and purchase of buying their software which would cost an additional $6000 +. Also, more classes are needed, at $99 each.

Keep in mind that at the initial seminar I asked the sales rep would there be anything else we would need to buy during the seminar, and even the seminar leader said "if we go somewhere else we would have to buy software, etc." (talk about calling the kettle black!!!).
We were not told how to do our own papertrades in a way we can do on our own and without their software, etc. The teacher talked so fast and jargonly that no one could understand. Kept mentioning how he is in "some ministry to help people, blah, blah, blah (very gifted at jibberish!)"

When I complained and asked for my money back, I was told I need to take the rest of their mentoring and that I missed the 3 day right to cancel but that I can do their 6 month guarantee. I informed them that I don't want any more money taken out for this mentoring and I was told after the 2 day workshop we could do papertrades, which is a lie. They even said kids could go to the class. However, everyone I have talked to is totally confused or feels ripped off.

Now, Better Trades is acting like they are trying to help me, but I want my money for having been lied to in the first place. Even if their program turned out to be good in the long run IS NOT THE POINT. The point is I was lured by FRAUD.

I understand your complaint however...

AUTHOR: Enohp660 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 31, 2008

I won't lie about it, I felt the same way when I went to the 2 day work shop because it does seem that the instructor is trying to sell you all the extra tools/ products. In all honesty I see exactly why they do push these tools. Before I even went to the workshop I started paper trading without the tools and let me tell you how time consuming and utterly frustrating it is to try to find and follow option prices, strike prices, stock prices, detailed market news and so on without the help of the tools. With the tools, everything I needed is a click away. Want to know about an stock split happening in March, it's right there. Want to get the best option prices and have your orders go directly to the trading floor in mere seconds? It's right there. Education about chart patterns, every indicator known to man and strategies explained simply enough that a 6 year old can understand them. What stocks are about to bounce off support or come off resistance. Pre market news and updates about every 30 minutes. They have a step by step process that won't even ALLOW you to get yourself in an unsafe trade. I mean, you can go ahead with it if you wish but they warn you not to go further if the earnings date is too close. The charting software is awesome as well. If you asked me if ticker symbol GME was optionable, it would take me about 10 seconds or less to find that out. The most active stocks are there if you need to know what they are. I could also give you a 1 year or 10 year or anything in between, history of a stock just as fast.
I will admit that the people at Better Trades should be more upfront about the cost of everything, including the tools because although you don't need them, you kinda do need them. If I had to do all of this stuff manually, I would have given up out of frustration by now. It would be too much to do all of that successfully and keep my job. But it does work and I'm all for anything that makes me money and makes my life and trading easier. Now all I have to focus on is trading. But hey, maybe it's just not for you and that's cool too.

Better Trades is an honest company.

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 09, 2007

I've been with Better Trades for 2 years now. They've always been honest, helpful, and courteous. Their tools are available to help make trading easier but are NOT required. You can use what they teach at their Market Essentials two day seminar without buying any additional items. The software is a charting program called Extreme Charts. It's under $600, not $6,000 as this consumer describes. Any trader knows they need a charting program. The one Better Trades uses is presented at the seminar. You don't NEED theirs, but to trade successfully you will need to look at charts -- free online charts or their, but you'll need to look at charts.

The Market Essentials teacher did tell us you can get charts for free online, then pointed out what the differences were between free and theirs. So what's wrong with that???? If someone has a problem with paying for their software charting program, let them use the free ones.

Mentoring is not an additional cost, as described. It's included with the cost of the seminar.

The $99 mentioned by this consumer was for retakes of this same two-day seminar (initial cost $2,995). That seems like a pretty good deal to me!! You get to retake this class as often as you want forever, for $99. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't learn everything the first time. Repetition enables me to absorb more and more each time.

Today was the first day of my 5th retake. The information might be the same, but I'm different each time I go. I have access to the instructor who is always there to personally review trades gone wrong, trading problems, and point out things I missed that could have turned my trade around.

I've looked at many many trading companies and found Better Trades to be the best!

Better Trades Satisfied Student

AUTHOR: Kevin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 08, 2007

I would like to let anyone who is reading this report to know that if you take the information given to you by BetterTrades, study it thoroughly, and then apply it in the market - you will succeed.

I am 30 years old, and have a physical disability that prevents me from working outside the home. After almost a year of barely getting by on the income from my internet marketing business and my wife's income, my father purchased the BetterTrades course for himself and I ($4290.00 for the partnership), funded an online trading account with $10,000, and told me to use what I learned in the two day Market Essentials Seminar (June 7th & 8th, 2007, Omaha, NE).

For the record, Doug Sutton was the instructor. He was extremely knowledgeable, and did everything in his power to make sure that every student attending understood the strategies that he was teaching.

They did offer their trading tools, which I was unable to afford at the time of the seminar. However, I will be attending a re-take in September and have every intent to purchase the tools then.

At the time of the seminar, I was 3 months delinquent on my mortgage, 2 months delinquent on each of our vehicle payments, and was looking at shut off notices for the Electric, Gas, Cable, and Phone. I am extremely proud to say that within only one month of attending the seminar and studying the Distance Learning DVD's that I was given, I have earned enough profit off of my father's $10,000 to completely catch up all of the bills!

In my opinion, if anyone has any complaints at all about BetterTrades, they just need to study and apply the knowledge. This company has been a life saver for me!

Thank You BetterTrades!

Better, not free trades.

AUTHOR: Linda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 02, 2007

I am sorry the man from TN did not listen closely in class. All of the additional products were optional as some folks already had those services. I purchased some, not all of the optional products and am now trading at a profit. I have no prior experience. If he will do as they ask and do the minimum trades for the refund. he will get his money back. If he choses to complain and not make an effort, then who is at fault ? He can still sell the DVDs and CDs on Ebay.

FREDDIE RICKS CEO BETTER TRADES RESOLVED ISSUE WITH BESKIN

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 23, 2007

THIS IS MY MOST CURRENT REBUTTAL TO MY REPORT. Better Trades is Informational, not just get-rich. The CEO wanted to make sure my issue was resolved and handled in a professional way!
I would recommend those doing Better Trades to go in it as a group with extra money they can invest BOTH IN THE STOCKS AND THE LEARNING TOOLS. then have Investment Meetings in their houses together so that they can be better equipped to focus and do APPLIED LEARNING about this....

If you do it this way, you will not be at a loss or lose your zeal for trading, as you see the results and knowledge of others around you. Also I believe it would show the real potential of using something like Better Trades. End result would be more people not thinking it is a scam, but more like a "college-like" education in trading.

Better Trades Is The Best

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 04, 2007

I have had wonderful experiences with Better Trades - since June 2005. They are honest and helpful. Nothing they tell you is a lie. If you think they are lying, maybe it's YOUR interpretation of what they are saying and not REALLY what they are saying.

If you haven't been successful with their system, then maybe you aren't applying it or are expecting a get-rich quick scheme. It's definitely not. It takes work and patience to learn options trading, just like any profession. They teach the basics, tell about products that will it easier, offer advanced classes, offer free email/telephone support for questions, etc.. Their tech support is outstanding. I've used them on many occasions. If they can possibly help, they will no matter how long it takes.

If you want to succeed in anything, you need to work at it. Trading is no different. Better Trades offers an opportunity to learn about options trading. It's your first step, not the only step.

I continue to be a satisfied customer of Better Trades and am taking an advanced class in Chicago in two weeks. Yes, I'm spending more money with them because I'm willing to invest in myself and my education.

BETTER TRADES USES P.R. SHILLS

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

BETTER TRADES USES SHILLS ON RIPOFF REPORT !!! ripoff Las Vegas Nevada

To Nancy of Maryland,
Sadly alot of agencies are lax in fighting for people. Honey, it is NOT that people have not filed with the BBB. Oh, and this would be a good story for 60 minutes. Unfortunately one doesn't get their complaints filed at all with the BBB of Las Vegas. This is why I am OUT money. I had first researched Better Trades and the BBB showed a clean record. The unwillingness on the Las Vegas BBB's part to record bad companies are what had once made it the "BOILER ROOM" (telemarketing scam) capitol before the DO NOT CALL LIST regulations became nationwide law.

What's worse, since your posting Better Trades has an army of shills that will post favorable ads probably right after yours. The Better Trades seminar people ask that participants NOT give out their phone number to other people in class. 2 people in class who shared phone numbers with me feel totally ripped off, but seem to be too embarrased to take action. One wanted to take class action suit. And they in turn know many others, all whom feel scammed. Many customers also don't complain as their credit card companies honor the money back.

((( email address redacted by ROR))if you know of people serious about pulling together and taking action....It is only a matter of time when insiders and one of their own will help the rest of us. I have heard tell that this may just be about to happen. So contact me through the editor....

Better Trades Victim, Too. They are refusing a refund, from what I hear they are an Optionetics clone.

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

I, too, was a victim of Better Trades. When I realized that their system was a scam (after reading your report) I requested a refund of my $2995 on my credit card.

No response yet, but I am taking action immediately to get my money back. I did not attend the seminar, sent back initial materials and refused the shipment of recorded seminar.

Better Trades - Above Board and Totally Honest

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 01, 2006

I have been associated with Better Trades since Nov 2005,and I also attented their 2 day seminar and workshop that started on the 14th of November 2005.

Their money back - risk free guarante was explained to me like this. If the Better Trades strategies does not triple your tuition within 6 months, also that you must trade on an average 6 trades per month, that they will refund 100% of your money as long as proivde them documents that you made some attempt on your part, and that they receive this information within 7 months from the purhase date.

All of the staff and speakers stated at the beginning of the 2 day workshop, that they would going thru a lot of material and that we would not be able to asborb all of the infomation that they will be displaying and talking about during those 2 days.

They also stated that would be handing out a lot of written material, dvd's, and cassettes that we would have too read, watch, and listen on are own time to further our training, but that we could review all of the materials as many times as we wanted too since these were part of entire package and workshop.

Also on the website under (MY ACCOUNT) they provide on going classrooms for a least one year that you can listen too and watch to further you training and knowledge.

I also have had some techincal problems when I started with Better Trades, but all of their support staff that I have delt with have been very co-operative and very knowledgeable in helping me resolve my problems and if the could not, they took the necessary steps to contact someone who could.

In any type of on going education and training, there is always things that you may have to purchase to educate your self further, and Better Trades has been there for me in every way possible.

Better Trades and their support staff has always been up-front with me about everything and I find nothing bad to report about the company, organization, and staff.

If any individual has something bad to report about BETTER TRADES, it is because they have not made any attempt on their part to do what BETTER TRADES has tried to teach them and has not put the knowledge to good use.

Henderson Responds

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 05, 2006

Once again, the person making this complaint is incorrect, making assumptions not based on the facts.

For the record, I am retired and trade to supplement my retirement income. I do not work for Better Trades. Better Trades is registered in Nevada, but their physical corporate office is not located in Nevada. It is VERY clear that this person simply does not know what he/she is talking about and probably made little effort to fully understand the training being offered nor the terms of that training.

Like the other person who offered a positive rebuttal, I felt the complaint submitted was not based on facts and painted a completely false picture of this very credible company.

This person purchased a TRAINING program designed to expand ones knowledge of securities trading. Better Trades did what it promised to do, impart the knowledge. Based on my personal experience, (and I've attended a dozen or more Better Trades training sessions), no one associated with Better Trades has every promised to make a sccessful trader out of anyone; that's up to the person to apply the knowledge gained - or not. In either case, that is not up to Better Trades - they have done what they promised to do - provide the training; now it is up to the participant to either use that training or not.

Better Trades

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 04, 2006

Better Trades is out of Las Vegas, whereas Henderson is about 5 miles from there.

The rebuttal claiming success with Better Trades appears NOT to be the wording that a satisfied customer would use. Appears to be the same people from Better Trades that were concerned about Ripoff Report. Same words about college they argued with me on the phone !! Also if you look at various Trader sites, no other unaffiliated traders mention success or need to use Better Trades.

Just a matter of time and I will get a pool of victims together. Yes, this program might of worked for a select few, but a majority got trapped. Many must of just disputed it on their credit card and got out of this mess.
A reputable company would have just paid the money back.

Better Trades Fair and Honest - Not a Ripoff!

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 04, 2006

I have been a Better Trades customer for more than a year, and have benefited financially from the training and mentoring I have purchased. I have taken several classes from Better Trades, and in each, Better Trades customers have shared their success in using one or more of the Better Trades trading approaches. Better Trades training programs and mentorship products have been honestly and farily represented in each of the several programs I purchased and attended.

Better Trades did not and does not promise to make a student a successful trader; only the student can do that by first getting a trading education and then practicing until trading becomes a skill. Like anything else, it takes work and effort.

This complaint misrepresents the Better Trades training offer in two ways. First, the Market Essentials two-day training program is designed to TEACH the essentials of stock and option trading. At no time did Better Trades promise that I would be a skilled trader after taking the Market Essentials class. Paper trading or practice trading, repeatedly recommended and encouraged by Better Trades instructors and mentors, can be accomplished through several brokers and DOES NOT REQUIRE PAYMENT OF ANY FEES TO BETTER TRADES. In fact, Better Trades Instructors and Mentors tell training and mentoring participants to practice extensively BEFORE putting any real money in the market, and tell participants how they can obtain practice accounts via their brokers.

The second misrepsesentation regards the requirement to purchase Better Trades Software. Better Trades does offer a variety of trading tools for a fee. If a trader does not want to purchase trading tools from Better Trades, they can be purchased from other sources, obtained from their broker often for free, found on any number of internet sites for free (or for a fee if more advanced versions are desired), or viewed in most daily newspapers. Better Trades is offering their version of trading tools no differently than Dell and Compaq both offer different models of computers. The trading tools that a trader might want to use are available from many sources that do not require paying a fee to Better Trades. No fraud, no ripoff, just Better Trades offering their proprietary trading tools.

This person has taken the training, has the materials, and now wants their money back. That's like going to your first term of college, taking all the classes, then wanting your money back because your not an expert, didn't get an A, or can't qualify for a medical or law degree!

This person has benefited from the training - whether they choose to use that training is up to them. And yes, there is a refund opportunity available for Better Trades Market Essentials participants; make the minimum number of trades required (I believe it is 6 per month for 6 months ) and not recover their training cost, Better Trades will refund the cost for the Market Essentials class. This is not a ripoff or a fraud, but a legitmate money back guarantee offered by Better Trades!

Better Trades offers a very high quality training program for stocks and options trading; a persons ability and willingness to learn and apply that learning will determine their success. There is no fraud and no ripoff!

regarding Better Trades. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

AUTHOR: Donald Christopher - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 04, 2006

I am personally sorry to see this report on Rip-Offs. To me it does not do Better Trades justice.

I am a 58-yr-old Painting Contractor who now supplements his income trading the market. I consider myself fortunate to have met Better Trades (there are so many other offers out there). I have been associated with Better Trades for over a year and their support staff are Rockstars! (as an instance: my computer crashed. My computer guy needed to talk to a tech at Better Trades. I called in crisis mode and within ten minutes their kingpin tech man called me back. Issue resolved). Thank You Better Trades.

I would like to address the few issues the writer of the report stated.

1) The original agrement (stated in their Risk-Free Guarantee) reads: "If we don't reveal a trading campaign that is capable of grossing three times your tuition - before the end of the seventh month after your purchase - just send us your six-month brokerage statements...If you cannot make 3 times your tuition - we'll give it back, or work with you until you do."

I, personally, understood from this that I would have to APPLY what was given me and basically either PROVE them right or wrong. I APPLIED what I was given (tho with my time constraints as manager of the Painting Company) it took me personally about 6 mo. before I felt comfortable entering the market. Thank God Better Trades backed me up all the way. (p.s. I was personally paper-trading within a month after my first seminar. If I had a question, I'd simply call the support staff. They are Great People).

2) Yes! they do offer Software, which I chose to purchase, because it is proprietary and after searching around, I felt it was best for me. I do know 2 other traders who have not purchased Better Trades software and they are doing fine. In fact, one of them takes advantage of the for-Life retakes, which I will address next. I did not feel pressured at all. It was an offer to me. I saw the advantage for me, and took it - and am very very grateful I did.

3) The $99 retakes. It's for Life! The $99 covers the cost of the materials handed out. I take advantage of these every 3-4 mo. because, being relatively new to trading I receive vital information that helps me succeed at this. Catch this, tho: I have sincerely applied myself to learning as much as I can about this. In other words, as in anything else, one needs to do the work! If you want it to work for you. (as an aside, I'd like to let you know that at the last retake (which I paid $99 for) I saw something in that seminar that I had never seen before (although it was always in front of me). And made that $99 X 4 in my next trade. Again, it is an offer they make that I have chosen to take advantage of. I was never pressed or pressured in any way to do the retakes.

p.s. In that First Seminar "Market Essentials" (which I retake every 3-4 mo.)I was new to trading and overwhelmed with the possibilities and the information. I knew they knew what they were talking about and that I didn't. I guess if you look at it in one way, it is 'alot of jargon'. Understandable. It was a new language for me as I am sure it is for any beginner. (try learning to read and speak Russian in two days. Good Luck). For me, I wanted so to understand what they were talking about that I did everything I could - alot of reading - alot of chart work - alot of legwork, so to speak, and now that I am familiar with it, it is now, plain speaking to me.
And believe me, there are things about the Market that are still 'jargon' to me, but I know, that if I APPLY MYSELF TO UNDERSTANDING IT, that it will be made clear to me.

4)The Mentoring Classes. Yes. You get 12 Free Mentoring Classes. I have as of today taken advantage of 10 of those. They are basically classes in which you get to be and see on-line LIVE how Better Trades Traders successfully trade the market. It has always been stated to me that AFTER the 12 Free Mentor Classes (which really introduce you to a number of successful traders and their different styles) that IF YOU WISH you can continue to follow the trader you wish to follow, and that they charge about $1,295 for every 3 months you wish to follow them. In my experience they have always been very very upfront about that.

Me, personally, I do not chose to take advantage of that. So I don't. And for the record, I am doing very well without that.

Bottom Line is this: I have found Better Trades to be highly ethical and up-front about everything. Their people are, to me, incredibly personable and down-right tremendous in giving support. (Believe me I have called and e-mailed alot - and always, let me repeat that, ALWAYS, my questions and concerns have been answered).

I am very very grateful and pleased that I AM in association with Better Trades and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

This same company called and told me if I had my complaint here in Rip-Off Report COMPLETELY removed (they gave me 2 days to do it), that they would give me my $1295 back. I was surprised that they did not mention concern about the BBB or Attorney General, but Rip-Off Report. There is no way a person can have a complaint completely removed.
If they paid me, I could of told you they paid me and it would of let you know they ARE a reputable company. IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 WEEKS and THEY NEVER PAID ME MY MONEY !!!
