Beverly Jade Thomas Dba Realty Executives Of Myrtle Beach DID NOT PAY ME FOR HOURS WORKED Myrtle Beach South Carolina

I was hired to work for Beverly Jade Thomas as owner of Realty Executives of Myrtle Beach in September of 2007. I worked weekends only doing reception work. I worked until December 2007 and was paid one time in the amount of $124.00 (+/-). I called the bookkeeper every week and was told the same old story "we're waiting for a closing". After two months of being told the same story, I contacted the man who actually interviewed me, who I found out later is related to Ms. Thomas by marriage. He told me the same old marketing crap "Times are tough but we have some new projects we're breathing life into." Thanksgiving weekend, I contacted Ms. Thomas directly and was told that the checks were cut and all she had to do were sign them. I lost my full time job that same weekend, so the money was very critical to me. I was totally lied to. The bookkeeper verified that there were no checks cut...another lie by Ms. Thomas. I immediately contacted her again and told her I did not appreciate being lied to. She responded that "she thought the checks had been cut." Another lie. I was finally forced to leave Myrtle Beach because I could not find another job. I ended up filing a report with the Labor Board in SC. They contacted her, but they do not have the authority to make her pay me. She owes me over $1,000.00! My next step is to file a Money Owed Complaint in Small Claims court, however after researching this with the Horry County Clerk of Court, it appears that Ms. Thomas' money troubles had been going on well over a year. She hired me at a time she had no money to pay anyone. Why hire anyone if you can't pay them and compound your troubles? She is in all kinds of crap for writing bad checks, and is in foreclosure, but the funny thing is she is still operating out of another office. All she did was change the names. How can anyone let her do this? Do not work for or buy real estate from this company. She is NOT an honest person and does not pay her bills. If you don't believe me, contact a few of the other people who used to work for her or better yet, do some research at sccourts.org. You'll be very surprised at what you find there.
