I brought four tires from Discount tires and when they started falling apart went back, and they refused to honor the warenty, said my car needed front end alinement. so went to Gelich in mesa on alma school and gaudalupe to buy new tires. was given a 60,000 warrenty a week later the tire blew out on the freeway and they said I must have driven over something, there was no damage to the bottom of tire at all it blew out from the side. refused to do anything except sell us another tire. they are very miss leading about the warrenty with the tires. What you get from them is an expensive tire and a lot of promises that mean nothing. Isn't there anything that can be done to alert the media with this dishonest practice?

As an employee of Discount Tire Co I know that we, nor our competitors, are obligated to offer any warranty. We do it as a courtesy. However, there are some expectations since we are willing extend such a courtesy. Among those is that you take care of your tires. Mechanical wear, like alignment, is not a tire defect. It is not our job to make sure your vehicle receives the proper maintenance at the proper time and if you cannot handle the responsibility of maintaining your vehicle you probably should not be driving lest you be responsible for causing a wreck. Your situation is something that I see all the time.

However, I will admit that despite some people's lack of responsibilty I have offered credit or replaced a tire or two from time to time. It's a case by case basis and if I notice a repeat "offender" I certainly have no desire to help that person. Of course, not every salesperson is as generous as me, but I believe that is the spirit of our company and it's founder so when it is something that has happened once I do give the benefit of the doubt. Now, the other point I would like to address is your confusion between a Road Hazard warranty and a Mileage warranty.

I will explain that to you now. What you experienced when your tire blew out is considered a road hazard. That may not have been offered to you, or, if it was, you may have turned it down which is why the other company was not willing to replace your tire. The mileage you were referring to - 60,000 miles I believe - is there to help you out if you do not receive the majority of that mileage. Hopefully this information will help you later on in life.
