Bidhere.com & Bidblink- RIGGED Auciton-

Here is the Proof - Why would someone pay 4++ times the actual price of retail?
Because it is rigged to drive up the number of bids - typically .60 cents per bid.

on bidblink - check this out. Someone actually paid 350.00 for a gift card for $50.
http:www.bidblink.com/auctions/1565-target-gift-card-50
-copy this & paste into browser and see for yourself. I have noticed equally dubious activity on Bidhere.com -- someone paid 4,000.00 in bids for a computer that was listed at retail 1,800.00; and the is suggested retail, we know that bidhere.com does not pay retail for it's items.

I encourage anyone to post on this site about these so-called penny internet auctions on this site and any other scam sites. This is NOT entertainment shopping, it's a rip off.

Auction #390146 Suspended!

AUTHOR: chico - (Australia)

POSTED: Thursday, March 22, 2012

i had a really disappointing experience with bid here.com  first i spent like 750 in bids to get a macbook pro and but the end of it i was penny less. and no macbook. i wrote to them about how much of a rip off and that thus is not bidding its gambling. they responded by saying the same thing. that person is an aggressive bidder and is known for that. and to try using different tactics and also suggested bidding for more bid packs :|

here is what they had to say

  "Hello,?
Thank you for contacting BidHere.com!?
Sorry to hear that you have some dissatisfaction with the way auction ran and about the ultimate winner.
We sell hundreds of items via auction each day, some are sold for pennies, while others reach higher prices. It is the very concept of the website. Unfortunately, we cannot help if you were bidding and prices went up, because like you, others decided to bid on it too. There is nothing unusual about it.
Depending on the day or time of day, the prices on our website does fluctuate.
BidHere has grown in popularity in past months and has become of the most successful auction sites on web.
There are several reasons why a user could or does overspend on particular auction, as crazy as it sounds, but it is true.1.Product availability in their country of origin. As you are probably aware, iPads are not launched in every country. If the user is from one of the country where it is a novelty item, status symbol, or simply a way to make some extra cash, users will over spend.2.We offer Exchange for bids on our website if you win an auction. If the user has won something which is useless to him or her, they often exchange it for bids. With this particular bidder, he does have a good history of winning and exchanging over 50% of the win, hence the excess bids. It is not the BidPack that is being purchased anymore, but the user is using free bids from other items he has won for a cheaper price. Many users bid on many items everyday to build up on bids.3.Addictive nature: If a user is addictive to bidding and auctions, it is sometimes hard for them to stop. Unfortunately it is human behaviour and we have no control over it. That is one of the reason we've set BidMonkey limits to a maximum of 3 auctions at any given time so no single user dominates the auction. Same way, we've limited number of Buy Now Auctions, so every member gets a chance to win and again, no single user is able to dominate auctions (which used to be the case 2 months ago)4.Simple math: If user has spent $1500 on a $2000 item and is losing, he would rather spend and lost $1500 on top of $2000 (retail price) and receive the item than simply saying goodbye to the initial $1500. Again, human mentality. Some important information:1.If you think, the other user is going to get scared and give up bidding against you, think again. Why would the other user not think the same about you?2.We spend a major part of revenue back into marketing, advertising and bringing users to our website, every single day. This is the only way a business like ours can survive. We operate in over 22 countries, carefully and strategically picked, so the time differences in all those countries make sure that there are always bidders on the website.3.BidHere does not use any bots or automated system to bid on its own auctions. There is no point doing it when hundreds of members login, purchase bid and bid on our auctions. When we first started, all our auctions were 120 seconds and we ran only 1 auction every hour compared to 200 auctions every day and every auction being a 15 second auction presently. We've increased the number of items we sell and the time for each auction has been brought down for a reason. Reason being, we are able to sustain those many auctions now.4.If you bid over the weekend, there are a lot more users doing just the same. Weekends and public holidays are the busiest time on our website.5.If you think the concept is not right for you, or you are not satisfied, you can simply choose to close your account with us.6.If you think this is not a legitimate business, you might want to check with your local authorities to confirm the same.7.If you're not satisfied by our response and do not trust the site, we would strongly advise you to cancel your account and/or file a complaint in writing.8.If you are dissatisfied about how an auction was conducted, and if the other users were trying to bid in a fraudulent manner, you can file a complaint with us and we will check every user's log to ensure there was no fraudulent activity taking place. All our auctions are real auctions, and all our users are real users.?
We're verified by several organisations who keep a close eye on our kind of websites.?
Moreover, if there was anything wrong with our way of operating the site, Paypal wouldn't let us accept funds after 8 months of operations. We're amongst one of their trusted members. We adhere to our strict Fair Auction Guarantee.?Thousands of users join our site every week, some of them spend more than others, some overspend and some simply collect free login bids. There is no reason or incentive for us to take an illegal or morally wrong approach to making money when our existing members ensure a lot more business for us on a daily basis. We will be happy to credit 250 bids to your account for you to try again.
But you have to take it slow. Going directly for big products can be a risky strategy as many go for it.Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further questions you might have.Regards,Melissa
BidHere.com"

Outcome: 250 credit:

anyway i was up all night just watching this one bid and worked it out. so i waited and waited. by morning around 8 if i remember correctly i had won my bid. i couldn't believe my eyes but sure enough it said i won.  i told everyone i knew and even face booked it. i have never gambled or won anything for that matter so you can imagine i was over the moon with this win. it was a motorola phone and i needed one at that stage.

the funny thing is it never showed up in my list of things won.so i contacted them and this is there reply

"We regret to inform you that an auction you were bidding on has been suspended for one of the following reasons:- Suspicious activity by a single bidder or group of bidders- Availability of the item in your locale- Technical glitch with the auctionWe suspend auctions to protect you and other bidders from fraudulent activity on the site. There is NO winner on this auction. The auction is considered void and all bids are reversed to the participants.Auction details are:Auction #: 390146

for me the excuse they used is pathetic. they should cop the loss not me. its easier to blame some or something else

djnick17 is the user that won that auction you are referring to and they are a long time user that is well known for being aggressive and sometimes overbidding.  As with *any* penny auction, you can't pick a small sample set and come to a conclusion like this.  People that criticize penny auctions are generally spectators or those that are new to them.  There is a huge following of people that get how penny auctions work and that you can't look at how well you are doing by how you did on one auction.  People have different strategies they employ and djnick17 is one that uses an aggressive, scare tactic, type approach.

I can assure you that there is NO shill bidding and there are no "bidbots" used on BidBlink (BB).  There never has been and never will be any activity like this.  BB is a legit business and operates with the upmost of ethics. If you have any auction that you want us to look at and provide you a real analysis of the happenings of that auciton, please send us a note.  We are more than happy to look into any inquiries posed to our customer support team.

In general, penny auctions are not scams.  However, there are definitely some "startups" where their business ethics are questionable (to say the least).   We strongly encourage you review any penny auction site prior to using them.  You can use tools like www.pennystats.com and look at user reviews or search on "penny auction reviews" and find another penny auction review site. Hopefully you can take away some information from this posting and use it to better understand the workings of a penny auction, in general.
