Do NOT rent from properties managed by Bigos Management!! Recently, at their Park Towers property, they had over 20 of their residents LEGALLY PARKED vehicles TOWED from their private underground parking stalls and parking lot. While several residents were out of town, Bigos Management gave less than 24hrs. notice that they would be re-striping the parking lot and parking garage.

At 8am the day after they slid notifications under each apartment door, Valerie (the manager) had several tow trucks remove all cars from the parking lot & garages. All cars were towed to Bobby & Steve's where they held them in impound until residents came up with at least $220 CASH + $25/day storage!!! And if that weren't enoughthey only release cars during very limited hours; Sunday, for example, they only release cars between 9-11am.

While this upset several tenants, two in particular were out of the country on a two-week business trip to come back and find their car had been towed and that they each owed over $600 for towing and storage. While they were able to provide documented proof that they were out-of-town and had absolutely no way of knowing or moving their cars, they were liable for the entire balance and were told if they didn't come up with the money by 30 days from the date their car was towed, the impound lot would sell their car to cover the expenses.

The bottom line is Bigos Management operates in the DARK GREY area of the law. While I can understand the need to re-stripe the parking lot, it is a project that is planned for at least a few days, if not weeks, in advance. Given proper notice, I would not have any problem at all. This project was run as though it had been PLANNED to MAXIMIZE TOWING REVENUE!! While I cannot confirm this, I would not be surprised if the towing company and the apartment complex have mutual owners underneath their corporate structure, otherwise it is also very possible that the tow company gives a kickback to the management or even pays for the striping procedure so they have the rights to tow from the complex.
