The finance guy at Bill Cook Automotive sold me an "extended warranty" policy called Masterguard on my new LEASED Passat. The policy period of the Masterguard warranty was exactly same as the lease period.
The policy was described by the Bill Cook agent as "warranty coverage above and beyond the manufacturer's warranty that runs concurrent with the manufacturer's warranty".
I have discovered that I was lied to. The Passat was experiencing the infamous OIL SLUDGE issues - and when Volkswagon tried to say that they would not cover the repair charges under their manufacturer's warranty, I thought that this Masterguard might help.
The problem is, is that Masterguard only covers any expenses related to issues that occur outside of the manufacturer's warranty period. Well - what's the point of that if the manufacturer's warranty period did expire before the lease expired!!?!?!?!
