All those interested in doing business with Bill Kolb Subaru Jr. BEWARE! Purchasing a car is the second largest purchase you will make; it's best to be safe rather than sorry. I purchased a used 2003 Inifiniti G35 Coupe from them in April 2008. I should have known from the start not to do business with them because as I sat at their desk ready to hand over my life savings ($18,000) the sales representative was all but ignoring me while he stuffed envelopes. Before leaving that day they convinced me to purchase the extended warranty (waste of money). They talked about how reliable they were, how they were the largest selling Subaru dealer in the nation, they had plaques all over their walls, and bragged that they had such high standards they wouldn't accept just any trade in. Hence, the Infiniti that they received as a trade in and were now selling was top of the line and I was getting it at a great deal they said--or so it seemed.

Less than a month afterward the automatic transmission light came on and I contacted them immediately. I spoke to my sales representative and he assured me that it was probably nothing and that he would return my call. I am STILL waiting on his phone call.

Luckily the vehicle was still covered under its manufacturers warranty I took it to my local Infiniti dealer. They replaced the transmission free of charge. About a week later the transmission light came back on again! They (Infiniti) replaced the transmission electrical harness. Then less a week later they transmission light returned to haunt me yet again. Inifiniti replaced the transmission computer this time. By now I had become turned off by the car and was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. During the four months I owned the car I must have driven it less than 500 miles. Bill Kolb Jr was unreachable at this time of course. Finally in August 2008 I had no other recourse but to trade in the car because I couldn't contact anyone at Bill Kolb Subaru Jr and because they were unwilling to help me.

My new dealer told me they could only offer me $13,000 for the car. To summarize, I lost $5,000 in 4 months. To make matters even worse I have been having a very difficult time recouping the monies I paid toward that crap extended warranty. I cancelled the extended warranty as soon as I traded in the vehicle. Now it has been THREE months and I still haven't seen that refund. When I contacted Bill Kolb Subaru Jr. they told me it was "in the mail" less the 10% cancellation fee. No mention of how the car was doing, how I was doing, why I was getting rid of the warranty--I assume they didn't want to handle the situation and admit their mistake. Again, I repeat, do not business with Bill Kolb Subaru Jr of Orangeburg New York!!!
