I purchased the EdenPure G-7 whole home purifying unit in 2006 and have now discovered that Biotech Research and SCI do not stand behind their products.

Having taken good care of the unit I recently had to replace the purification plate in response to a flashing "purify" on the front display. This was done after going through the troubleshooting steps indicated in the instuction manual which simply were to either check for proper installation or clean the purification plate.

Upon ording a new purification plate from Biotech Research and installing, the same problem of the flashing "purify" display was present.

My subsequent call to Biotech Research customer service for any troubleshooting advice produced only a clueless representative who said "take it to an appliance store". My follow up email to Biotech Research yielded the same curt response. Neither representatives could even give me a recommended authorized repair facility.

The fact that Biotech Research, and parent company Suarez Corporation International, purport their products to be unique and give years of customer satisfaction yet instruct a good customer to go to an appliance store for repairs is indication of a scam.

Even after the flimsy 1 year warranty (too short for a product costing hundreds of dollars and sits on a shelf), a company should not leave a customer high and dry with advice to take their unique product to any Joe-schmo appliance store down the street. Especially after that customer has taken good care of the unit, followed the insturction manual, and purchased the indicated new part from the same company.

To further indicate foul business practice behind the scenes, my call to Suarez Corporation International revealed one "authorized" repair center in the U.S. located in Minnesota. Why would Biotech Research reps tell me any appliance store and not give me an authorized repair center? Either way, this leaves the customer with an unacceptable amount of wasted time in trying to solve a simple problem.

I would recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing the EdenPure air purifier from Biotech Research to reconsider the hundreds of dollars they are about to invest. This product has proven to be much less than advertised and the company's customer service horrible.
