I can personally vouch for Dave Bishop and his dedicated crew of employees in North Vernon, Indiana. I am the owner of the red Beechcraft Staggerwing that was completely restored for 2 years and completed last summer, and currently showing on the company website. The finished product I could not be happier with, and the aircraft was featured in a 2 page spread in Flying magazine in Feb of 2009, and the group at FLYING loved it. The crews working on the planes are craftsmen, and genuinly love their work. I visitied Bishop aviation over 21 times during the restoration project, and I can definitively tell you that any allegations of drug or alchohol use are completely false and without merit. I was there helping (in the way) more than most customers I think during the process, and they were always friendly and cared what I had to say, and always said it could be done if I wanted it that way. I am having an airplane restored at Dave Bishop Aviation. They have been working steadily for 2 years, at my pace based on finances. I have visited 6 times, never have I seen anything but about 12 guys working in a clean, well organized, well equiped shop. The quality of his work has exceeded my expectations, I have been present when 2 other airplanes that received complete total restorations that another business had for years prior to Dave Bishop finishing them, both of these guys alongwith myself are pleased with our airplanes. I visited on 3/25/09 and a Tiger Moth, Pitts and Christian Eagle are about to roll out the doors. These airplane are musuem quality restorations. So I think whoever posted this has sour grapes or is just posting to post and try a hurt someone, but the cream always rises to the top. If in doubt call the FAA and ask, call the sheriff, call me.

The complainer stated, "now the paint is starting to peel off after only six weeks"

well... NO plane left are facility no where near that time frame. Another lie of course. This is just a person that is jealous of our quick growing successful company.

If this was a valid complaint, the person would have put his real name and location like everyone else on here does. Obviously this person didn't do that due to the fact that everything he/she stated is a lie!

I work for Bishop Aviation. We have never and will never steal parts or money from a customer. We have produced really great work. I am not sure why someone would file such a silly complaint on this website against us. We even helped customers that got screwed by another guy here in indiana and fixed the mess he created. That other guy took the parts... money... and etc from customers... he was even charged and convicted of it... he's the guy that installed illegal equipment on an airplane and did over 20 hours of "taxi testing". how can you taxi test an auto pilot...

we have never did any work for a guy named "BEN" or for anyone that resides in Naples, Florida.

People need to understand that when we quote prices and time frames... they do not factor in "unforeseen" issues... like bad wood in wings and etc... customers that let their account balance with us fall below zero are costing themselves time.... if they do not have money on account... then we stop working on their project and add more man power to other paying jobs... we can not help it if a customer is having problems financially... If a customer can not afford to repair/restore his aircraft... then they do not need to own it... it is like a boat... if you can not afford to keep the licenses and etc current and afford the fuel... then get rid of it... all parts we install on certified airplanes are FAA/PMA approved....we follow the FAA guidelines on all work performed along with the 4313 manual.

now the drinking/drugs...

i find this be ridiculous... we are not allowed to consume any type of alcoholic beverage or use drugs while working at Bishop Aviation. Every employee is required to be sober and of a sound mind.

I know who the author is of the filed claim and find this to be childish for someone of their intelligence.

I am the owner of Bishop Aviation. I find the submitted ripoff claim to be false and slanderous.

We specialize in restoration, painting and building of aircraft not ripping customers off like other companies. We take pride in our work and are dedicated to the customers satisfaction. But keeping in mind that there is always a small percentage of customers in any type of business that may be unhappy and etc. That is caused by the two most common reasons:

1. Customer brings a low value aircraft (one that is and only ever will be worth for example $20,000) and wants our shop to do $100,000 worth of work done to it. The plane will only still be worth $20,000.

2. Customer brings his/her aircraft (no matter the worth) and wants a $150,000 worth of work and only wants to pay $80,000 if that.

We have a simple process on working on a customer's aircraft. They add money on their account and we work on their project. If their account falls below zero, "into the red", then we stop work on the project. Many customers fail to understand that when we have multiple projects going that "bank rolling" six projects with no customers paying on their account is hard to do.

We are so dedicated to the type of work we do that we took on about six or so projects from another shop that was charged and found guilty of charges of stealing money, parts and etc from the customers. We are taking those customer's failed dreams and are making them come true by fixing the errors caused and making their airplane fly again.

As for the drinking and drug using:

It is against Bishop Aviation Policy to consume any illegal drug or alcohol while at work. Employees are terminated for such infractions. What my employees do in their off time is their right.
