Found a really nice mare for my stallion, the bloodlines I like & cross well with my boy. She is an Palomino mare which was a plus. She looked thin in the photos but after asking the owner about it, she said the mare 'was not thin, maybe 100 lbs under'. After MANY emails & phone conversations with Betsy, I felt this could be cured with getting her teeth done & some grocery's. I
really wanted this gal so I paid-in-full by paypal.
The following Monday we were there to pick up the mare around 9am. O M G..!!!!! I was shocked to see this poor mare, skin over bones, stuff coming from her eyes, stuff oozing from her vaginal area & her stool was like a cow patty but black...! I wanted to just leave her there but I felt so darn bad for the mare, I haltered her & led her to the trailer. She was stumbling & walking wobbly like. We did try to load her...(mind you, I think ALL paperwork was in order).
Upon trying to load this mare she refused & no matter what we did, she was not going to load. At one point she reared up & her back legs gave out on her...she did not loose her footing or balance, her legs gave out..! SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH HER, I told my husband..! She wouldn't even get up without pressure..!
I asked the husband a few questions & he offered info. that she might not have been happy hearing him tell, like "I don't remember the last time we gave shots, got testing for coggins, wormings...etc". They got wormed when they could catch em' or could afford it. No tests because the mares were brought there from UT or OR (where ever they are from) & never left the ranch...? I said she needed a coggins but was told that if she was sold within the state she didn't need a coggins..! If I wanted one, it would be at my expense..! WRONG...!
I then asked the owners husband, (Betsy was not there..???) for my money back. He said he would have to call her & went into the house. 30 min. later he was still in there, so I put the mare back into her pen, petted her for awhile, went back to trailer, closed it up, sat in truck for about another 15 min. & then left. Never seeing the husband again. I think it was like 11am or after..!
Betsy never called me once all day, so when I got home 7hrs. later, I called her asking her to refund back to pay pal. Oh my....not the thing to ask..! She said "You bought this mare, come get her". That she was going to charge me $8.00 a day till I came back to get her". The truth be known...? I really don't think the mare could have made the trip, to far & way too hot..!
I have since truned them into the TAHC. & the humane society. I guess she will be able to keep my money unless I get an atty. but maybe will have to test all her horses, maybe see what is wrong with that poor mare, if she is still alive. BEWARE.....! Betsy is wicked when she is caught in the wrong..!

The crooked seller can say all she wants as I DO KNOW THE TRUTH..! Two other buyers, I have found so far, can ALSO state the facts about this sellers practices........

Myself and 2 other people I have found, have had problems with this woman. She will do what it takes to sell her horses. Most of her horses were in good shape when I was there but if the Humane Sco. came out to look at this mare I bought & passed her, Betsey must have shown them another horse or is friends of the inspectors as this mare was "SKIN OVER BONES" and I have the pic's to prove it..! Just beware of this woman, just beware.
Betsy, don't pray for me, I'm fine in my life. Just refund me my money or give me my mare..!

This woman would not know how to tell the truth if it hit her in the face. She has lied and been allowed to say things that are absolutley untrue because she got mad at me. She did everything she could think of to be hateful but the bottom line is "what goes around comes around" and I think she has much more to be worried about than I do. If you want to talk to people who have done business with me, let me know and I will give you a huge list of names and numbers. They have my horses and my horses speak for themselves. They are quality animals that have become champions up to and including a reserve world champion. This poor woman needs your prayers. I pray for her and her lack of the ability to tell the truth. God bless her. (By the way, the mare she spoke about is doing very well and is very happy as she has been for the past years). She was inspected by this woman's humane socieity people she turned me in to and they found her to be in fine shape as well as my other horses. In fact, they commented on how good our horses looked especially with a drought in progress. Betsy Weathers

ALL I WANT IS MY REFUND...!
Betsy contacted my letting me know "she 'got a coggins done' as she found out, in a SALE in TX. a CURRENT Coggins has to be done before horse can change ownership." (per my call to TAHC)
This should void this sale..!?
THEN Betsy tells me the "SUPER CALM, #2 TEMPERMENT" mare tore down, I don't how many feet,
of solid pipe fencing & a huge steel feeder. I now owe her thousands.........in repairs..!
The mare is fine, no cuts, no scrapes, maybe a bruse...? Does she think I'm stupid..? She must have pulled this stunt on some 'non-horse' ppl. Now with all that said, In all our conversations/emails this mare is gentle, gentle, gentle, no problem mare..! I have health issues, COPD, serious back & knee issues.....she claims she was on her way home to help load the mare...why didn't she or her husband call me when I left...? If I had stayed & she loaded the mare, by drugging, whipping, twiching, however...how does she expect me to load this mare again...? Is she going to come & load her everytime I need it..? PLEASE.

still can't get mare

Now after a month, I have made several attempts to get mare picked up but now Betsy has added fees. She claims I have to pay her $1150 before the mare goes anywhere. Where does it stop..? I don't know what to do at this point. Does anyone have any thoughts..? Any lawyer out there think they can help..? The mare is NOT worth this kinda money. The horse is mine, she won't give it up.
