Blake Medical Center MEDICREDIT, INC. When urgent care had a 4 hr wait we went to Blake Emergency room due to pain level and fear that CDIF had recurred Maryland Heights Missouri

My husband and I went to Urgent Care in Bradenton, Florida because I was having symptoms like the CDIF I had had after caring for my Dad. Urgent Care had a 3 hour wait so we went to Blake who advertised a 3 min wait.  We are still in shock after recieving the bill from Blake Medical Center.  We had NO idea that an emergency room could charge so much! Or I would have just toughed it out.  We were afraid that the CDIFF had come back after being with my departed Dad over Christmas and the sooner you start the antibiotics the better!!  So much stress and pain. But really almost $6,000 for a visit?  OK, if we hadn't  worked our whole lives it would be provided  for at no cost.  But because we are retired and have minimal insurance coverage they charged us over $5,ooo for tests that showed I had the flu.  And now we are being hounded by debt collecters even though I have been paying $5 each month to the docter and the hospital.  It just seems so wrong.
