BLEEKER INSURANCE AGENGY/HASTINGS MUTUAL INSURANCE ARE CONSUMER NIGHTMARES. They use the ole bait and switch. Quote you one rate, make you pay two months in advance, then when your two month period is up they raise the rate!! If that isn't bad enough, they then will demand payment of the new higher rate for the two previous months! They are a fraudulent company that only cares about lining their pockets, even if it's fraudulent! When you dispute the ill charges, they promptly report you to a collection agency.
Stay away from the Bleeker Insurance Agency in Big Rapids, MI and Hasting Mutual. There are plenty of reputable companies out there. So don't believe their "great rates", is a diguise to get you in so they can raise your rates and demand back payment even if you cancel! Even if you cancelled the policy the moment you were notified of the new rate!
Report companies like this to every agency available. This company and companies that practice this way are the biggest rip off artists out there.

In response to the rebuttal question, the company ran our record and then gave us a quote. They then raised the rate and wanted to retroactively charge for months already paid. On the brighter side, I received a call from Hasting Mutual yesterday and they revieved this information and decided to remove the charge and notify the collections agency they forwarded it to that the matter was resolved. It's terrible I had to do all this to get the right thing done BUT they DID do the right thing!!!
