Blockbuster on line buy customers from a very shady telemarketer the Elephant Group. The Elephant Group are also known as E-club Marketing Inc. and Satellitesales.com.

When customers sign up for Dish Network their credit card number and personal info is sold to Blockbuster on line. Blockbuster on line buys stolen credit card numbers that were taken by fraud. So the Dish Network customers than see charges for Blockbuster on line that they never authorized or know anything about.

Blockbuster is involved with this stealing and fraud to make money off the stolen credit card numbers. If it happens to you only thinng to do is cancel the account they are fraudulently charging, THEY WILL NOT CANCEL even if they say they will.

Contact the BBB of Tx and attorney general of Tx.

When I called the number on my bank statement for Blockbuster on line I was asked to access my account by answering where I was born. I DID not answer but asked how did Blockbuster get that information! (When E-Club answered my BBB report on them they brought up I gave the answer to access my Blockbuster on line account voluntarily, NO!) I just said CANCEL, CANCEL, FRAUD, STOLEN CREDIT CARD NUMBER. I was told to take it up with my credit card company, I did and they back charged because NO ONE has proof of authorization.

I told Blockbuster on line to cancel my account and I canceled my credit card number and then I receive an email that Blockbuster on line needed a new credit card number because they could not access my old one. So that is why it is so important to cancel the card because Blockbuster will not cancel the account.

And yes, I saw some former emails from a Blockbuster on line but I deleted them thinking they were spam because I do not open unknown email, as most do. I was NEVER told my email address was given to Blockbuster on line.

THIEVES!

I had received Dish Network thru the Elephant Group, also known as E-Club, an agressive marketing guru not realizing it. If I knew they were a telemarketing group I can assure you I would not have given them my credit card number.

When I called I knew only of the promotions that Dish Network was offering on their flyer.

What they do is fast talk some of their "own promotion" but in reality they are just going to charge my credit card a bunch of stuff to help sales.

When I say the credit card number is stolen they (and these are breaking telemarketer laws) do NOT tell you what they will be charging on the credit card. I was not told of membership dues costs and it would be charged on my credit card.

I was never given ANY information for canceling or that I would have to cancel to keep from being charged.

I was was never told when I would be charged.

I was never told my credit card number and personal information would be given to Blockbuster on line.

I never expressed my authority to E-Club, Elephant Group, my permission for them to give Blockbuster my membership.

I was only told about some free movies in some fast talking and THAT IS ALL.

They do not give me more information because they did not want me to have a chance to deny membership.

Also there is no taping of my complete understanding and authorization of E-Club to give Blockbuster on line my membership.

I would consider under all these circumstances my credit card number was given in FRAUD to Blockbuster on line and I consider this stealing.

But, like Dish Network, Blockbuster on line will continue to use the E-Club or the Elephant Group because they bring them so many customers and that is the bottom line. But I can see how since the customer does not even know E-Club is giving their credit info to them and not given a chance to say NO!

I have not even rented a movie in 10 years I can assure you I would not want to pay almost $20 a month to rent movies on line. I do not have time to watch movies and would never have signed up voluntarily.

If any one has their credit card number taken by fraud and given to Blockbuster on line thru E-Club file a complaint against Blockbuster on line with the Attorney General and BBB of Texas, and file with your own Attorney General of your residing state.

By the way, Dish Network DOES NOT give customer credit card numbers to Blockbuster on line for a promotion, it the corrupt telemarketer group the Elephant Group.

This isn't really a rebuttal per se, but more of a request for further information about the allegations of Blockbuster purchasing stolen credit card numbers. I would be interested to know where the individual reporting this problem obtained their information and whether or not they have any further details as to exactly how this theft is occurring. Assuming that no illegal activity is occurring, my best guess is that there is some type of cross promotion between Blockbuster & the Dish Network in which you are given a free trial of Blockbuster Online and after the free trial the credit card that you gave to Dish Network will be automatically charged. Many companies do promotions such as these and if one is not careful it is easy to overlook the choice to opt out of the "free trial". Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Anytime your card has been compromised...it's good to cancel it as it's probable that further illegal charges will take place.
