Blue Horizons Group, Blue Horizons Home Based Energy Business Scam --- Do Not Spend A Dime! Phoenix, Arizona

After seeing several reports posted on this website about the very same company and people (Maegan, Greg, Gabe, Gary, and Ryan, I hope you recognize yourselves!) that also scammed my wife and I, I felt compelled to file one about our story, which is astonishly similar to the stories reported in those other reports.

It all started in August 2009 when I responded to an online invitation (read "trap") to download a free e-book about a new online business in the field of renewable energy.  I have to admit that the initial offer and subsequent phone conversations about owning our own "custom" website that would allow us to sell all types of green gadgets and products for barely $500 were attractive.  When I asked, they could even justify the low upfront cost of the "custom" website by the fact that the marketing of the site was left up to us, which I thought made sense, and also that they would be getting a small comission on everything you would sell through your online store.

It started to not look so good anymore after we were contacted by Greg, supposedly one of their business development and  marketing specialist, who sold us a radio advertisement package.  The radio ad package turned out to be completely different from what they initially told us it would be ... what was supposed to air twice a day  for 100 days on a local radio station at rush hours in one of our neighbor cities (our own choice), Eugene, OR, apparently was "redirected" to some obscure internet radio channels that we could never even identify or listen to.  To this day, I am not even sure that those ads ever played anywhere.  We tried to get out of that scam "fairly" by offering Blue Horizons to stop the ads after 1 month and reimburse us only the prorated portion of the initial $3200.00 that they asked from us for the package.  Not surprizingly, Greg was now unreachable, and we never saw the color of our money again.

I understood also later on why our "custom" website was so cheap ... the fact of the matter is that the only thing custom about it was the domain name that we picked for it.  After the radio ad episode, I started to do a bit research on the internet, and in just a few minutes, I could find at least 5 or 6 websites that all looked identical to ours, except for the name.  So that was the real explanation for the low upfront cost ... selling several people the same generic website and recover the cost of a single design many times over.  Fundamentally nothing wrong with that ... but just don't come lie to me and tell me that you are selling me a custom website!

Later while on a road trip through Arizona, my wife and I decided to stop by their headquarters in Phoenix, and have some face-to-face discussions with them about all of this ... I promised my wife I would stay calm :-).  Well I can tell you not to bother if you ever think of doing that ... there is NO Blue Horizons on the 5th floor of the building on Camelback Road in Phoenix, which is the address listed on their website.  Their name is not even listed among the other tens of companies listed in the lobby of the impressive multi-story building.  Even the guard at the information desk in the lobby had never even heard of them.  I guess it was a cool building to show on their website ... because it is indeed a pretty building when you stand next to it.

Bottom line for us now ... Our sour experience with Blue Horizons made them lose all credibility in our eyes, whether it is in the field of renewable energy or any of the other aspects of their business!
