I made an account just to write this about my experience with BlueHost--they suck!! They have no info anywhere that they bill for a whole hosting plan upfront. Unsuspecting customers get the idea they can pay the small hosting fee per month. They took a huge chunk out off my bank account and now I'm waiting for my refund to be processed after I got on the phone right away and cancelled. These hosting companies need to put this in plain English on their websites!

Huh?

If I understood correctly, you mean that you were expecting to pay a low fee per month and would pay it month by month?

From any web hosting website, they usually advertise their low host fee per month at a very low rate on the front page, but the detail of how to obtain the rate is always on the deeper link once you click to look at the detail. Also, the rate is usually from buying a long term hosting -- at least 1 year. The longer the hosting time you buy, the cheaper. Once you enter the contract, you must pay the whole fee up front. This is what all web hosting companies is doing (from what I have seen so far). To me, it is fair because they do NOT want their whole sale with discount to become a problem along the line; besides, they want to be sure that customers won't back down and do not pay them later if they allow customers to pay month to month. If you want a monthly payment, you get no discount (per retail not a whole sale).

If you could cancel and get refund back, then it is NOT a rip off because they still allow you to get your money back.
