I ordered a high end Hermes handbag from BlueFly the other day. I was assured by the person who took my order that the purse would come in the designer's original packaging, and with all materials. I expected to receive the handbag in an Hermes box, with Hermes tissue paper, the dustbag, and ribbon.

Instead, I received a purse that was just thrown in the Hermes orange box, amongst a couple of pieces of crinkled tissue paper, and NO DUSTBAG. The orange box (which is a keepsake in and of itself) had a huge sticker on it which totally ruined the box.

This was a high-end bag, of over $800 in value and I was extremely dissapointed that I received it in this condition. The dustbag is PART OF THE PURCHASE when you buy designer handbags. I did an online chat on their website to ask Bluefly to provide a dustbag for the purse and they said they would be "unable to provide the dustbag for this item". After this, I called their customer service number. I was placed on hold for approximately 30 minutes after explaining my situation to the woman, and she came back and said they could remedy the situation by offering me 10% off of my next order, OR free shipping next time! I wasn't excited. Bluefly regularly gives out 10% off coupons to it's customers, so this wasn't exciting, and I really don't want to order from them again. Also, their shipping is only $7.95, so this didn't impress me either.

After basically yelling at the woman on the phone and telling her I didn't appreciate receiving the bag in this condition, she offered me $30 credit on my order which I accepted. It was better than nothing, but still doesn't make up for the lack of customer service and quality control at this company. Beware before getting a "DEAL" on this website.

The funniest part of it was, the original shipping box had a sticker on it that said "Lovingly packaged by Juanita Sanchez". HA HA HA. Bluefly stinks.

Hi -
If I were in your situation and received a sub-standard product, I would return the bag. You have to remember that bluefly is basically an outlet for designer clothes.
