We were offered the fantastic opportunity to visit Big Cedar Lodge near Branson, MO for only $59, and this was at the Bass Pro Shop in Columbia, MO. We made the purchase because we had been at the Lodge several years ago when we had friends who were working there and that was before it was sold to Bass Pro Shop of Springfield, MO.
We were disappointed when arriving in Branson at the check-in we were given reservations for a hotel instead of the Lodge. We didn't make any waves, just thought we woulld get to go there the next day, which we did and was subjected to several hours of high pressure sales pitches and everytime we said no they came up with a better offer. To make a long story short we finally agreed to sign on the dotted line, then we called too late to cancel the transaction, which seems to happen to many people when dealing with Bluegreen.
We have made a horrible mistake and it has cost us a small fortune so far and we have never used it at all. We want out of the contract now, but how?
We were told that the family could use it, but they would not even talk to our daughter when she tried to make reserrvations. We have 8000 points but for what????
Please, if anyone else has had this bad experrience please report it to the Attorney General of Missouri as I have done, just maybe he will take action against them as other states have done and has received a settlement from Bluegreen.

Mike and Smithie....Bluegreen Scum

There you have it. Mike, again I must tell you, you are the lowest form of life in the pond you worthless scum. These guys are BLuegreen sales whores. They're paid to come to complaints sites and rebut complaints...IT IS THEIR JOB!!!!!!!
Good people doing research on Bluegreen Corporation - know this: This company's entire business model is based on deception and lies.
You can absolutely believe what Jean has posted is 100% the truth.
Bluegreen is nothing less than a nest of liars and thieves. They will say anything to con you into signing you hard earned money away. Oh, and by the way, after that - you get to deal with a whole corporation of people JUST LIKE MIKE1 of Pigeon Forge. Take 10 minutes and go back and read some of his posts. He is trash. Bottom feeding, blood sucking gutter trash.
Please people, for god sakes, DONT GIVE BLUEGREEN A DIME!!!!!!

We checked it out last weekend

My husband and I took the tour of Big Cedar Resort in Branson, MO last weekend. We signed up for a 3 day/ 2 night stay for $99.00 while at the Bass Pro Shop in Broken Arrow, OK. We knew before we went down there that we would be staying at a hotel and only going to the property for the tour and sales pitch. It was a nice hotel and it would have cost us more than the $99 to stay there for 2 nights.
We have been on several timeshare tours and knew what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised this time. Although the whole thing did take longer than what they estimate, it did not take near as long as some others we have been to. We did not have to wait much past our appointment time to get started. We were first gathered with a group in a room in which one speaker talked to the whole group. I liked that better than the one-on-one at other places. The speaker was friendly, funny, and non-intimidating. After his talk, someone else showed us through the property. That did not take long either. After that, we were taken into a room where they want you to sign the contract. We told the guy we could not get into anymore debt right now. He called someone else in, which is standard practice at these things. After we told the second person the same thing, she just said okay. Neither the first guy or the second lady held us up. In fact, I was surprised at how quickly they let it go. Usually I have to stand up and start moving towards the door.
I told several friends and family that it was an amazingly beautiful resort, and if I was ever going to buy in on timeshares, it would be here. I told my sister it would be the perfect place for her honeymoon, and even to get married at. I was looking for their website when I came across this website. I wanted to see if people could get married there, and if you could stay there without being a member, like at a hotel.
Overall, the timeshare tour was a good experience. I would never have known what an awesome place it is if we hadn't done that. All the sales people were polite, and have a lot more class than I have encountered elsewhere. They did not act like piranhas ready to devour our bank account, and didn't act mad at us for declining their offers. When we said we couldn't afford it they said okay. The first man that spoke to our group said that they have plenty of buyers and don't need to hammer those that say no. I really didn't believe him due to past experiences, but he spoke the truth. We were let off the hook so easily and quickly, we stopped and ate in their restaurant instead of running to escape.

They won't let you add your daughter to your deed until it is paid in full, but you can fax over an authorization allowing anyone you want to have access to your acct.

it is a rip off

The real problem is not the high pressure they put on you to buy, but the fact that after they have your money you can never find an open week to use your points! All Bluegreen owners from other Bluegreen resorts fill the time at Big Cedar...Therefore YOU the actual owner at this resort will have a very hard time trying to use your points...Keep your money and use it to stay at Big Cedar (the real one) The best thing I can say about buying in to this time share is the extra vacations I have booked through RCI.

Your daughter can use it

Your daughter can use your points, it is very simple to do.
Bluegreen will not let your daughter make a reservation since she must not be listed on the deed, this is for your own protection.
There are 2 very simple ways to allow your daughter or any member of your family to use you points,
a) since your name is on the deed all you have to do is phone BG and make the reservation in her name.
or
b) add her name to the deed, then she can make her own reservation

In your report you claim that Bluegreen "kept" you there for several hours. I am intrigued. How did they keep you there? If you would have asked to leave at any time, I am sure they would have removed the handcuffs and leg restraints. You said that like other people on here that you called too late to cancel. Did you read your paperwork before you signed it. Hell, if you would have even read it when you got home you would have seen the cancellation policy in bold letters. I think you are making a fool of yourself by reporting this to the Attorney General. You chose to go to the presentation, you chose to stay, you chose to purchase, and you chose not to read your contract.
