After placing some reservations at a Choice Hotel, I was asked to stay on the line for a special offer. I was soon connected with an individual who began telling me of the offer of three nights at one of 17 luxury hotels for $149 and all I had to do was attend a 2 hour presentation regarding their new hotel chain. In addition, following the presentation I would be given a Master Card debit card for $150 to spend as I chose. Throughout the discussion, I was not made aware that I was speaking to anyone other than a Choice Hotels representative.

I asked what the purpose was of the pesentation and was told it was just to let folks know about these new upscale hotels. I specifically asked if they were selling anything as I had been given a similar offer once before and it turned out they were selling condos. Her answer was, "Oh, no, nothing like that." She insisted that it was just to tell people about the new upscale hotels operated by Choice Hotels. Until I received the confirmation, I was not aware that I was not speaking with a Choice Hotels representative.

Of course, once I read the confirmation saying they were selling timeshares, I was furious at having been lied to in such a fraudulent manner. I immediately sent a message back to the company telling them to cancel my order and return my money. As one might expect, there has been no response. This is a rotten way to do business and I am letting everyone I can think of know what a fraudulent organization this is. One thing I know for sure, if they do not give me back my money, I will go through with the offer but I can guarantee no one will be buying any timeshares when I am there.
