On Monday, January 22, we traveled from our home neaer Knoxville to Pigeon Forge,TN., to take advantage of a free night and two days in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg areas. Also promised were two adult tickets to "Fiddler's Feast" and another restaurant.

When we arrived at the Welcome Center we were told Fiddlers Feast was sold out and we could choose between two other entertainments and get another certificate for two free meals at another one of the four restaurants chosen by Bluegreen.

We stayed at Laurel Crest Resort and went the next morning for our 90-minute presentation at 10 a.m. The meeting was only part of a 5 1/2-hour sales pitch. We left there at 3:30 in the afternoon after purchasing a plan that would give us 20,000 points every other year. We finally ate at almost 4:00 p.m.

On arriving home, I began to research Bluegreen Resorts and found the complaints on this website. After spending Wednesday reading the complaints, my husband and I became alarmed and decided we should cancel the purchase agreement because of what we found on this site and the fact that Bluegreen's plan seemed too complex for our 70+ minds.

On Thursday my husband called to make an appointment with Tami Frederick, who had taken care of the closing on Tuesday afternoon. Tami was not in but Pat Boyd returned our call later that afternoon. When told that we had some questions and wanted to come in on Friday to discuss them, she said she would see us.

Pat could not have been more courtesous and professional. She said if we thought the plan was not for us then we should not do it. She offered to give us a Trial Plan of 9000 points to be used over nine months, but we declined because we already had several trips planned for this year.

Pat took our letter of cancellation and said she would take care of it, but advised us to also mail a copy, along with the contract page we signed, to the main office in Boca Raton.

So far, our experience has been positive. Our phone call was returned promptly and no pressure was put on us to stay in the plan if we felt it was not for us. As we left we had a much better feeling about Bluegreen Resorts than we had when we arrived. Our hat is off to Pat Boyd!

Decision to Cancel Not Changed

AUTHOR: Jean - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 28, 2007

My husband and I decided, no matter what we were promised, that we would cancel the purchase agreement while we were still in the ten-day period following the contract. I only meant that so far in that process our experience has been positive. I hope in the weeks ahead we'll feel the same way as we exit this agreement.

We should never have made such a quick decision to pay that kind of money for something that would probably only cause us grief. We both know better, but they threw so much information at us that it seemed we were signing before we realized it.

When I began to search the internet for information that afternoon, I already had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. The information I found on this site only confirmed that my intuition was right.

Get out now while you can

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

It would be best for you to get out "now". You don't need this quagmire at this timeor during your golden years. You may be satisfied for the time being but it will be the SOS next year and the next. They will tell you anything in order to secure revenue and help make their CEO's million dollar plus salary per year. Not making anything up. Been there/done that.
