Do not be fooled by "too good to be true" BMG GROUP, INC. now cavorting it's scam and sham in the Charlotte, NC. area.
The company has postings through sites such as CareerBuilder and Monster.com, detailing of entry-level advertising and marketing jobs with full training available and mid range pay anywhere from 28-45k a year.
This company is doing legit business, however, they are doing so on the very EDGE of doing so without it being illegal. Their business and the "interview" process is deceitful, misleading, VAGUE, and most importantly, a waste of your time. Do not be fooled by offers of "Sports Marketing" jobs or "Event Promotions". Don't be sucked in by their constant name-dropping of names like the Atlanta Braves, The Carolina Panthers, Walt Disney Company, Toys for Tots, DARE, etc....or even the fact that these companies logos are on the walls (on crappy plastic signs, mind you) when you get there. It's a fakeout scam. They're BARELY legal, I'm sure...in what they do....somehow.
But when you sit down to think about it...there's not really a crime being committed here. You agree to everything along the way through their process...it's only that their TRUE root business is high intensity, high-pressure sales at less than desirable locations, under the guise that it's being done "for charity". That's true, it is, but in small, very hard to notice percentages of their income. Yet they still use the big names...to lure customers...to lure you..into buying junk, and making THEM (not you) Rich. Keep reading.
This company seems to show up around the country under different names (to avoid the ability for one to find information, background, website, etc on the scam itself) In essence, it's a trick pony that you can't "Google" and find out much about without some work. In fact, here in Charlotte, I could not find anything (until this report you're reading now) about the company using the name BMG Group, and it looks like they have recently setup shop in the last week.
The company also uses names (I've found in my research) such as Atacor Enterprises, GEOPat, or their head company, Quantum Marketing. (Good luck finding much on THEM, either online).
THE BEST INFORMATION on the scam and process of BMG GROUP can be found in another ripoff report at
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/254/RipOff0254728.htm
Read that posting...my experience this morning here in Charlotte matches everything you'll read in that post.
You will be lured in, basically, to perform work for free for one day...with no payment...in hopes that you're building a "career" for the future. When in fact, you're simply in training to become a scammer on their team yourself.
Interviews are held in the afternoon. You're invited back the next day for a morning meeting and the second phase of their scam. Of course, after that morning second phase, the same afternoon, another slew of potential "interviewees" enters the building used just hours before to do phase two. It's a DAILY ROTATING process...that keeps each new person shielded from the next part of their scam...with a very intelligent timing. You can't hear things going on in other rooms at their office, because they shroud the lobby with noise from a television, the secretary, etc.
In other words, you don't know you're being scammed until you're int he middle of the scam. And even then, I had to go online after leaving and do hard looking before I found out what was going on. That fishy feeling you get when you enter the room...that sketchy vibe you get when you go to the nasty dirty "truck stop" type bathroom this "progressive advertising agency" has in the back of their office...it's all true, and is your instinct telling you it's a scam. I'm a real human, backing that up...and letting you know...it most likely is a huge waste of your time. Don't get dressed up and shave your legs for this. lol.
I simply wanted to get the name BMG GROUP, Inc. onto the internet in hopes that, since it seems to be a fresh guise for this company's despicable business activity....that others will find this information, read the other post, and NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO AN INTERVIEW OR CONTACTING THESE PEOPLE IN ANY WAY.
It's a trap. And it's a trap that's done WELL. I'm a professional...with a degree...and they got me to their offices. Their wording, their practices, and the science (literally) of what they do and how they say it and present it (down to the most incredibly professional sounding receptionist who calls you for an interview) is done WELL. They are in suits and ties. They ask all the right questions. It feels like the real thing...and your mind plays with you and the possibilities. But the fact is, in the end, you're left wondering with vague answers...on your way home...
And it works. No wonder people like you and me continue to show up day after day.
Good Luck, and hey, if you're like me, and you STILL wanna go through the process of seeing a scam in action in 2008...go to their interview. :) If anything, you can mess with their heads, play along, and end your day laughing. I did! Hey, if they can waste my time...I most definitely will waste theirs...

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Apple Unlimited
AUTHOR: mattymillz - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, August 01, 2011
I worked for a Quantum company in Charlotte, called Apple Unlimited. My job was to sell car-wax at gas stations (I'm sure you've seen these guys around if you live there). For what it was, I made the money promised to me, but their structure of promotion from within is definitely a scam, and the owner of this branch (David Apple) was definitely a bi-polar coke head. The place is located right off the i-85 at queen city blvd. I definitely would warn anyone considering employment here to look elsewhere and not to be allured by their "management opportunities", I wasn't and didn't work there long, but I know a lot of people I worked with were very gung-h*o about the false opportunity.
