my father bought this car a few years ago from the dealership. It was a very nice car, good on gas and is still under 150,000 miles. All of a sudden the airbag light came on indicating it was not working anymore. Also the headlights go from dim to normal while you are driving, and the gas guage no longer works.

I have came across many complaints of the same problems online and it seems like all of this should have been recalled. I do see that the airbag has and the brake light but if everyone is complaining about the gas guage and headlights why has it not been addressed by the company yet. I believe this is a complete rip off for $20,000+  your car falls appart as it hits 100,000 miles this is not fair at all.

I was right.

You do not understand the concept of the warranty.

" if there is more then one defect in a car and it is not from wear and tear the warranty is not the issue nor did i ever mention a warranty sweet heart.  "

First of all, if you're looking for a sweet heart, I recommend a dating site.

What does "wear and tear" have to do with a warranty?   I'm beginning to believe that you have not ever bothered to read the warranty.     Warranties cover defects .     If the defect(s) show up after the warranty period, you have no recourse unless it is a mandated, safety related recall.   That's it.

Difficult concept

Based on what I read here on many reports, a car warranty is a very difficult concept to understand.

HE'S DISMISSED?

Whoa, Nelly!! We got a real arrogant OP here.

You never did answer the question? Why are you tarring the Bob Dance dealership here over a 5 year old car breaking down at nearly 150,000K? What do they have to do with making the car or designing it?

You wanted them to eat the cost of repairing it? After 5 years? This fight is between you and Hyundai, not the dealer. If you and the other owners you seem so c**k sure about connecting with think you got a case for a recall, take it to the Feds, or try to find a lawyer to take it on. What the dad-bang blasted heell do you want from the dealer?

How many miles?

Where is Guinness when you need them because this has to be some sort of World Record for a Hyundai.

your car falls appart as it hits 100,000 miles this is not fair at all.

- Well you know what "sweet heart"..life is not always fair, but that does not make this a RipOff.  but you know what is unfair.  Posting a "RipOff" on not only a manufacturer but the dealer because they won't pay for repairs on something that is way out of warranty just because YOU think they should.

as i said these are defects that happen on a chain reaction to every hyundai santa fe made in 2007
- And you have proof that it was EVERY Santa Fe made right?

Anyways thanks for posting this report.  I think if these are your biggest complaint after almost 150K miles I may have to take another look at them.  It is just too bad that I am not in Florida or I may have checked out this dealer as well.

Meaning of warranty.

" obviously you did not understand these are not normal issues at all not normal wear and tear it seems that the gas guage, headlamps and airbag are all defective not from use at all. "

I think it is you that does not understand.     A warranty covers defects for a specific period of time and mileage.  After the warranty is over, the owner is responsible for repairs.    No doubt the manufacturer has tried to explain this to you, but you don't seem to get it.

All manufacturers are the same in this respect.   Every vehicle has some inherent defects which tend to crop up after the warranty is up.   They rarely fix them for free unless the defect is subject to a safety related recall.

What I still don't get is why you think the dealer should be the subject of your ripoff report.

obviously you did not understand these are not normal issues at all not normal wear and tear it seems that the gas guage, headlamps and airbag are all defective not from use at all. many reports have been made on the hyundai website for the same problems so if it is happening to many it is not wear and tear. you need to get real with yourself if many cars have the same issue it is not the driver or the time that has passed it is the car period. the airbag went right after the warranty was up and the headlamps also the gas guage is a new problem and a connection problem as been reported within the company. thank  you for your comment but i think trust the opinions of other owners of this car rather then yours.

Are you serious?

" It was a very nice car, good on gas and is still under 150,000 miles. "

You're complaining that a 5 year old car with "under 150,000 miles" has mechanical issues?  How long did you expect it to keep running problem free?

When the warranty is expired, the owner is expected to pay for things that break.  The only exception being safety related recalls.   Most people know this.

Why you think this is the dealer's responsibility is a true mystery.  You are a nut.
