I had a misfortune to purchase a sofa from this company. I should have researched the Internet. There are quite a few complaints about this store. I hope everyone reading this is paying more attention than I did.

The problems started on the day the sofa was delivered. It took a few month to get the delivery and when it arrived, it was damaged.

I foolishly agreed to allow the delivery to proceed, with the understanding that the BoConcept would replace the damaged piece and I would have something to sit on in the meantime. Well, it took more than 4 months (!) for them to deliver the replacement, and when it arrived, it was damaged as well.

But that is just part of the problem.

Within a few days after using the sofa I noticed that that the quality of the materials and the appearance is nothing like the sample I saw at the store or the pictures posted on the BoConcept web site. Other people and even a furniture repair expert agreed that the sofa has problems.

I contacted the store, and after some delays, the owner Ray Priddle showed up at the house to look at the sofa.  He discounted all of my concerns. But he offered to write an email to the manufacturer. I saw the email. He basically told them in a nice way that I was full of s--t, and offered NO accommodations of any kind.

This is in contrast to any other upscale contemporary furniture stores I have done business with over the year, like Scan Design or Dane Decor, or even Macy's. These stores would always try to take care of a customer.

I would not go as fas as saying that the customer is always right, but basic courtesy and empathy is what separates good customer service from the likes of BoConcept.

Overall, the furniture is like  "Ikea" quality for 10 times the price. I would rather buy from Ikea. At least I know that Ikea stand behind everything they make. On the other hand, BoConcept probably does not even know how to spell "customer service" or "quality products".
