We choose to outfit our 5000 Sq ft. renovated historic home with all Bosch Appliances, purchasing them from Bonnycastle Appliance in Louisville, KY. a short 3 years later, our very expensive Bosch dishwasher stopped draining at the end of the wash cycle. Even though Bosch warranty covers electronics-related parts failures up to 5 years, it does not include troubleshooting or any labor! Bonnycastle refused to come out to check the issue without us incurring a travel and troubleshooting fee. We had better service from a Korean brand LG front load washing machine we bought from Circuit City 5 years ago, even thoguh we were dealing with a custoemr call center half way around the world. The person we talked with at Bonnycastle was not interested in doing any over-the-phone troubleshooting.
If you are considering paying more for the supposed quality of product or service from either Bosch Products or Bonnycastle, save yourself time and trouble and just go buy the top of the line run-of-the-mill mass-produced stuff from one of the warehouse stores. All of the warranties are now 12 month parts only, and apparently all brands are designed to ensure a repair revenue stream throughout the products limited life. We will never buy another Bosch Product (we spent over $6000 for a Bosch Washer, Dryer, Stove and Convection Oven combo, Dishwasher, and Microwave Unit) and whatever we purchase will not be from Bonnycastle Appliance. Their only remaining value-add has been proven to us to be non-existent.

The 1/4 inch diameter plastic I retrieved from the vent-stack tube, was the same color and make-up as that found in the dishwasher plastics itself. It was perfectly round with a very slight convex shape to it's dome, and on the obverse ,there was a slight lip which appeared to the naked eye to be about 1/64th inch and was rough, almost as if this piece had been used to seal a manufacturing hole during the build process. There is no way this piece came from any of the drawer trays, wheels, etc, as the dishwasher has very fine mesh screens that would prevent this. It either came of an internal piece (which I suppose we will uncover later, during soem future repair), or it was a leftover FOD from the install. I read on a previous post regarding Bosch diswashers that an owner was told certain units are not designed to utilize the vent stack, but rather drain directly to the disposal. Our install has a good 4 feet of extra unnecessary drain tube length that has me wondering if maybe our unit falls into this catagory. The water pressure coming out of the dishwasher certainly appears adequate to flush directly into the disposal...One more item highlighting the low quality of this Bosch dishwasher is that the control buttons are stainless (or faux stainless, but have their functions silkscreened on the buttons themselves...(not above or below them) we only have a household of 4 people, but in the short 3 years we've had this unit, the function labels are wearing off, and at some point soon, only people that have memorized each button function will be able to operate this piece of american made crap. (and to think we bought Bosch thinking we were getting German quality...HA!) God I hope I didn't pay for union workers!

Energized from posting to rip-off.com, Idecided to have another crack at the dishwasher myself, since I refuse to get bent over by Bonnycastle. I had previously attempted to snake a coat-hanger sized wire up into the drain tube, with what appeared to be brief success in alleviating the no-drain issue. I started thinking maybe there was food particle blockage that was being hampered by the force of gravity and that the pump might be able to clear that blockage if I disconnected the hose and held it at a lower drain point. I disconnected it, and reset the Dishwasher, hitting the cancel/drain buttons simultaniously. Lots of (the previously standing water from the bottom of the tub) shoot out with ample force, proving me wrong. Then I looked into the much smaller non-flexible tube portion that serves as a sort of "vent stack" for the drain tube. (That's the thing that is next to your sprayer if you have afaucet like ours)
stuck up inside of that small tube just inside was a gray piece of plastic that I can only partially describe as what appears to be a screw cover, or perhaps the broken remnant of a 1/4 inch plug. It was perfectly sized to block that small inflexible drain tube, and obviously came from either the inside of the dishwasher outlet water path or was left over from the Bonnycastle install as FOD (Foreign object debris). If it came from the inside of the dishwasher water path, then that tells me that the dishwasher has a design defect. If Bonnycastle really cared about the products they sell, they would have offered to come out for free to do a preliminary troublecheck, so that they could perhaps give valuable feedback to one of their suppliers. But, no..Like a majority of other so-called boutique distributors, they are much happier to get paid to do 5 minutes of work, and charge me $200. I'm going to follow the internet blogs for Bosch Dishwashers to see if this is a classic failure mode, and I suggest other Bosch DW owners do the same. In the meantime, I've crossed Bonnycastle off of my "vendor list".
