Boost Mobile, I thought was a decent pre-paid company to use. Some think just because you have a pre paid phone, you have shabby credit. Not always the case. I purchased this for my son who could keep in contact with me while out working, and not worrying about a outrageuos phone bill.

Noticed on the account that there was a breakage fee taken. Called and spoke to a "customer service" person. Dang, they must hire anyone off the street and don't even provide training, because, when speaking to her, after moments of hearing nothing out of her, I asked if she was still there. "Oh ya" she stated, she was trying to figure out what this meant.

I asked to speak to someone who could help, like a supervisor perhaps, and on hold I go. Then a "supervisor" comes on the phone (who was the same person) and trys to explain that if you dont "reboost" your account with the 90 days, you loose all the money in the account. I asked if there was 500.00 in the account, would you take that. She stated, YES !! What a crock of crap. The 90 days wasnt up until midnight tonite !! BEWARE, if you don't reboost within those 89 days, you "bank" will be drained.

Boost Care agents don't get your money

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 12, 2007

To Jake:

Boost outsources its customer care to other companies. Those companies do nothing but customer care for companies such as Whirpool, DirectTV, and others. Your money doesn't go into our pockets. If Boost went out of business today, I would still have a job because my company handles MANY other company's customer service.

James...I agree with you.....However..

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 30, 2006

Like I said, there are exceptions to every rule.

However, the majority of prepaid customers are just what I said. I used to sell telecom products while in Las Vegas. I know who my "customers" were.

And I also said that LONG TERM use of a prepaid is never a good deal.

There are ALWAYS exceptions to the rule... not a pimp, prostitute, or dealer.

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 29, 2006

Steve:

I guess I would be an exception. I am not a pimp, prostitute, or dealer.

I got the Boost phone when transferring in my job. You see, when I was stationed in Florida with the Army, I was given a government cell phone. I cancelled my personal cell phone, and used that one exclusively (yes, it is legal, as long as I didn't surpass 1,000 minutes/month, since my job included a LOT of travel, and I worked 80+ hours/week). Upon transferring, I was selected for a school required for promotion. I had to turn in my phone prior to departure, and I would not arrive at my next station for 4 months.

I got a Boost phone explicitly for that time period.

You see, generalizations never work. And yes, I had an issue with the service, namely the lack of international calling. I did everything I was supposed to do to activate the international calling THREE TIMES. The international calling part of the account was never unlocked.

Clarification for Christine and Ruben..

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006

I clearly stated that there was exceptions to every rule! I never said everyone who used pre-paid fit that description!

Maybe you need to brush up on your reading skills!

Again, I specified what the MAJORITY of prepaid users are, which clarifies the complaints on this site and elsewhere.

Did you ever hear the old saying "consider the source"? That was my point. No personal insult to anyone. Key word here is "MOST" users.

Relax [Peter].

Get Real!!!

AUTHOR: Ruben - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006

It clearly states how long the minutes are good for (90 days). All of that information comes with the phone when you buy it and even states it on the re-up cards you buy. It is best to do your homework and decide what is best for you before you make an important purchase such as a cell phone and not blame the company because they have rules and you agreed to them.

Steve: Just to let you know teenagers also have pre-paid phones because they are young and cannot get a contract, plus it teaches them to control how much they talk and spend. But I guess in your eyes they are just drug dealers and prostitutes. I also have Boost and never had any problems with them. Why do I have a pre-paid phone, cause I do not want to deal with contracts and the bull that cell phone companies put you through when you have one. But I do have a pre-paid contract with no commitment that I pay for every month. Out of all of the companies I have been with, this is the best one (in my eyes) that gives me the most for my money without any extra charges, fees or taxes for services. I get 300 anytime minutes, FREE internet, walkie talkie, text messages, nights and weekends. Oh, and for the record, I am not and will never be a drug dealer or prostitue. I am just an informed consumer who make the best decision based on the needs and product information.

#9 Consumer Suggestion

Steve, alright..

AUTHOR: Christine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006

So, NOW you are saying I am financially irresponsible?

Maybe I actually don't talk on the phone a lot, and don't need to yak, yak, yak all the time. Did that ever occur to you?

$30 every 2 months is not financially irresponsible. It is the opposite. With Sprint, my husband and I were paying $148/month. What a waste of money, don't you think?

I'm pretty sure you were not personally attacking me, I was discouraged by your generalization of mobile phone users.

Prepaid phones are also VERY helpful to parents of teens who want contact with them when they are out, but also want to control their usage. That's why my 16yo daughter get the use of one, only when she's out.

Christine, take it easy!..That was a general statement only!

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Christine,

Or should I say Peter?

Anyway, It is a fact that prepaids are never a deal long term. You may get a one time enticement to purchase, but they they nail you. That is a fact.

It is also a fact that the general customer base is exactly what I stated. Of course, there are always exceptions to every rule.

In addition to the criminal element like the drug dealers and prostitutes, etc..there is one other category which makes up most of the remainder... The financially irresponsible who cannot pay a regular cell bill ontime, and/or cannot control the # of minutes used. No self control. Yak Yak Yak all day.

Steve,

AUTHOR: Christine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Steve, so am I a drug dealer, or, a prostitute?

My husband and I had only a couple of months left on our cell plan, and, unfortunately, my phone broke. It was going to be $150 to replace it.

We already knew we were going to a different carrier, so, I figured I would just get a cheapie pre-paid. Nokia 1100, using Net10, on clearance at Target for a little over $17, which included 350 minutes.

I haven't sold any drugs, or sold myself to anyone, yet I continue to use this phone. The most it costs me is $30 every 2 months.

I don't know, maybe I'm headed on a path to self-destruction. Or, perhaps, I'm SAVING $$$.

Cheap shot you had there...

Switching Over to Regular Cell

AUTHOR: Jake - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Jim, Jim, Jim..... You need to stop and re read your post above. THAT ATTITUDE is exactly what I was talking about, and THANK YOU so much for demostrating and verifing it for me !!!! If it wasn't for the "MORONS" that use the prepaid service, you'd probably be flipping burgers somewhere, instead of thinking you have a HIGH CLASS job sitting behind a phone, thinking you own the world. It is the "IDIOTS" the use your service that is PAYING YOUR wages, so maybe you should treat them with a little respect. This "MORON" will no longer put pennies in your pocket !!!!!! Better learn the groupings for "VALUE SIZES".

Prepaid phones are ALWAYS a rip off!

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 28, 2006

I cannot figure out why anyone other than a drug dealer or prostitute would use a prepaid phone. I say this because criminals like them because they are anonymous. No bill, nothing traced to your name/id. That is unless you use a debit or credit card to recharge it. I am talking about just buying the reload cards at the store.

There is absolutely no other benefit than that. The rates are high and when you figure in the reload fees and time lost due to expiration it really sucks.

Why not just get a regular plan from a major carrier even if you have to pay a deposit to get started? You will be much better off in the long run.

Guaranteed.

Stay away from prepaid!

BOOST CUSTOMERS ARE IDIOTS

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 27, 2006

As an employee the company in mention I am completely and utterly amazed at how consumers always feel like know it alls!!!!!!!! The biggest problem with Boost (or any other company) is that consumers never LISTEN until they feel something goes wrong that is a direct rip-off to them. When a customer signs up with our monthly plan that use a CC, that customer is read a 2 page Terms of Use, which they also have to accept themselves via the internet. But do they listen or read....NO!!!!! They just b***h because they are too incompetent, and in too much of a hurry to do give an agent time to do this job.

Care reps have an extremely stressful job dealing with 100+ morons a day. You think it's easy to do this job, then try it bub!!! I bet you don't do half as well as they do. Besides an agent not knowing what to do......people have to start somewhere!!!! They are highly trained techs, but turning that training into a real call is hard to do!!! In training it can be sugar coated and guided directly to a solution! It is not easy to take a customers incoherent rambling and whining about something and figure out what exactly they are meaning.

Finally as for 89 days!!!!! If you would listen when you add money to your phone, you are told that the expiration date is 90 days away at 1 AM...meaning you have 1 hour on day number 90 to add money. Therefore 89 days is correct. IN CONCLUSION LISTEN YOU MORONS, IF A DOCTOR WAS DIAGNOSING AIDS YOU WOULD LISTEN SO LISTEN WHEN WE TELL YOU WHAT WE NEED YOU TO HEAR!!!!!!!!!!
