Borders Books PERKS don't depend on receiving the advertised items through this website! Sacramento California

On June 23, I received an e-mail advertisement from Borders Books online store for an opportunity to make an advance purchase the "Neil Young Archives, Vol. 1: 1963-1972" CD.
Aha! I thought, an ideal birthday gift for my son, young in the 70's and 80's. And so I put up the "special price" of $91 and costs and ordered a gift, the publicity saying it would be shipped within 10 days.

After several e-mails and a phone call asking where my gift was (no response) as they had charged my credit card, I e-mailed again and copied my original e-mail confirmation. This was on July 16.

The reply I received on July 19 (almost a month later) is below:


Thank you for contacting Borders.com regarding your order.

"After researching your order #16017841, we have found that "Neil Young Archives, Vol. 1: 1963-1972" is currently out of stock. Out of stock items normally take between 2-4 weeks to be re-stocked. Please note that the items will invoice via the original shipping method selected while placing the order."

These people don't know the meaning of the market term "customer". They are unresponsive, undependable and uncaring and it shows. An immediate response would have been appreciated, allowing me to select another gift, and an appropriate apology would have been even nicer.
