Borgasorus books charged me 60.81 for a photography book Alibris order #25143444. After 3 weeks the book arrived (7/5/08) missing 3 pages -obviously torn - and blotted with magic marker. This is an art/photography book, which is an investment -their pric reflects that. What they sent me was worthless.

Notified them via email. They offered me 25% off as a refund. I have filed a return with alibris and Borgasorus is threatening to not refund my money since it wasa sent priority mail.

I have tried calling them. There appears to be no one in charge of the operation - according to the young lady who answered the phone. I have left a message for a Mr. Tom Morice. Nothing has happened.

Here is their online description for the book
"Good 0394732499 Paperback Student edition. CD NOT INCLUDED. Light dirt, wear, fading, or curling of cover or spine. Good binding. NO apparent loose pages. NO apparent missing pages. No apparent writing or highlighting. pm"

I am now out 60 bucks and Alibris is not helping me at all.

Hello,
My name is Jennifer Grooms and I am the President and owner of Borgasorus Books, Inc. I am writing in response to the complaint submitted by our customer Mr. Bill D.
We first received an email communication from Mr. Bill D on 7/7/2008. He notified us that a page was missing from the book that he had purchased from us. Our employees process hundreds of books every day. We strive for 100% accuracy in all our descriptions but occasionally mistakes do occur. We immediately responded to Mr. Bill D by apologizing for our error and offering a full refund as per our return policy. Our return policy asks that customers return the book to us and we issue a refund upon receipt.
After a reply from Mr. Bill D, we also offered an alternative refund of an immediate 25% in which he could also keep the book if he wished. We continued to attempt an amicable resolution to this issue for Mr. Bill D.
Mr. Bill D did return the book to us. We received his book on 7/11/2008 and issued a full refund including the extra postage that he had paid. The last email communication that we received from Mr. Bill D was on 7/12/2008. He thanked us for our promptness in responding to this issue.
Concerning Mr. Bill D's phone calls, he spoke with members of our shipping department staff. They repeatedly informed him that all customer service questions are handled through our email service. Our employees in our shipping department do not handle customer service nor do they have access to the accounts necessary to authorize a refund.
Mr. Bill D's assertion that shipping took 3 weeks does not match our records of his purchase. Our records show that he placed his order on 6/23/2008. His order was shipped on 6/24/2008. According to tracking information, he received his book on 7/5/2008.
While we regret that our error led to a less than ideal experience for Mr. Bill D, we did our best to resolve this issue amicably. Mr. Bill D thanked us for our prompt response to his issue and received a full refund. Hardly a scenario that anyone could characterize as a "Rip-Off".
