BRAMAN MOTORS MIAMI Service Department SERVICE DEPARTMENT FAILED TO PERFORM WARRANTY WORK AS THEY DESCRIBED. Miami, Florida

My Mini Cooper was taken in for warranty defects: 1) Passenger door misaligned and window not opening and closing properly. 2) Engine rattling noise when cold starting, and in many instances at normal operating temperature.
According to the dealer, the door was aligned and window automatic mechanism fixed. Quite the opposite. Window was not even fixed. The engine noise, according to them, was a clutch thow out bearing,which they replaced. However, rattling noise is still as loud and clear as before.

After doing some internet research I discovered a serious flaw with second generation Mini Coopers (2007 and up), regarding cam chain tensioners and rattling noise. If these tensioners fail, the timing chain beaks loose and say goodbye to your beloved engine. This is a FACT which BMW is aware of it, but its dealers are simply ignoring. It takes some serious talking, and in some cases a good attorney to get them to perform the job of replacing the tensioners (and in some cases the timing chain) at the factory expense.

In summary, BRAMAN MOTORS has failed to fix the window problem on my vehicle, and also failed to take proper action and correct the rattling noise coming from the engine. Worst thing is that BMW was certainly billed for this work (which now I doubt it was ever performed). And if your warranty expired, get ready to pay this out of your own pocket. It is a real shame this dealership is getting away with these things. I stronly suggest to STAY AWAY from BRAMAN MOTORS MIAMI. Take your vehicle somewhere else. Good luck !
