Brandon Hyundai Hyundai Motor Finance I turned my Veloster 2013 and they sent me an invoice for $1686.69. What really got me was the $261 they charged for the steering wheel wear and tear. We turned the car in 1500 UNDER milage. Don't believe them when they say 'normal wear and tear'. Tampa, FL Florida

I leased two vehicles from Brandon Hyundai. When I turned it my 2013 Veloster, they told me the car would be inspected and I would be charged for things that were considered more than 'normal wear and tear'.

Two months later, I got an invoice for $1,686.69. I understand some of the scratches and scrapes that I should pay for. I did scrape the wheel a few times on the curb.

What really got me was the $261 they charged for wear and tear on the steering wheel. The stitching was worn on the steering wheel. Is that a manufacturing defect? Was that normal wear and tear? That is certainly not excessive wear and tear.

Did I mention that I turned in my Veloster with 1,500 UNDER milage? I called several times and never got any satisfaction. They would not budge on the cost they gave me. They know I want to protect my credit.

I still have my Elantra. I am wondering what my best move is when it's time to turn that one in.

It's a CAR FLEASE!!!

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 15, 2016

This is why you should never, ever get into a CAR FLEASE! When you signed the contract to get FLEASED, you agreed to pay them whatever amount they decided to be excess wear and tear! This amount is ROUTINELY used as a profit center for the deal and as such, these charges are exaggerated. What they will do with the money is place it to pure profit. They will sell the car on their used car lot or take it to the auction as is without repairing what they claim is excess wear and tear. This is one of MANY REASONS you NEVER should get into a CAR FLEASE. There is much more profit in a CAR FLEASE than if you buy the car. No personal financial expert has ever spoken in favor of a CAR FLEASE. It is great for them and a screw job for you...as you have seen! Please do yourself a huge favor. Do not EVER get into a CAR FLEASE again and spread the word!!!
