It's been all over the media here in Atlanta, Ga. Scam sweepstakes drawings. If you recieve a letter from Club Prive/VMC in Montreal, QC best believe that it is too good to be true!

Your letter will have a ticket number and a cash credited file number. Enclosed you will have an actual check written out to you for exactly $1,997.00. The company will want you to cash the check and send the money via money gram to a Canadian Tax office. Then they will send you $85,000.00 in a certified check via UPS. (Yeah, right!)

Here's some red flags that people need to look for when lottery winnings are considered. First, there were no terms and conditions written in fine print. Secondly, there were no legal attributes. Finally, there's nothing confidential about this letter. Doesn't that seem a little strange to you?

What these people have done is set up a telemarketing type firm designed to collect money from different accounts set up in the US. We are helping them collect this money illegaly by lying to money gram to have the money sent. They are costing individuals $50.00 to $85.00 per transaction to send money through money gram. Once you've cashed the $1,997.00 check and paid for your money gram fee your money is lost! You've been scammed!! Don't fall for it.

I was informed that the checking account number that they use for the endorsed check sent to you to pay the Canadian taxes has been closed due to the numerous amonts of scams. However, I was able to cash my check for the $1,997.00 just the other day. So, I don't know how true it is. If someone out there have anymore information, please let me know. I was almost a victim. I just want to warn you before it's too late.
