BRE Properties are way overpriced and offer horrible customer service.
Not once have any of my messages been returned, not even when I have spoken to a representative  who said they would call me back.
Rent also always increases after the end of your first lease.
And no matter the hardship, if anything ever happens to go wrong (like a roommate skipping out on the last 6 months of your lease) dont count on management being willing to work with you.

In my personal situation, they never tried explaining to my roommate the negative consequences of skipping out considering the effect on the other tenants and their credit.  They actually sided with her and in the end, didnt even try to pursue her for lease termination fees or for damages that she was responsible for they didnt even ask for her forwarding address, only mine leaving me to deal and PAY for the burden I was not responsible for.
 
So if you enjoy being overcharged for terrible service, go for it. But trust me, you can find similar housing elsewhere that is cheaper with better service, GUARANTEED.
BRE will rob you blind.
All they care about is money and have no human compassion what so ever.
