Brian Keith is a photographer that is based in NYC and works with agency models but travels quite a lot. I had added him to my Facebook not long ago, after reading the famous hairstylist, Johnny Lavoy's blog about his experience working with him. Because I am aspiring to become a makeup artist / hairstylist one day, I have many industry professionals added to my Facebook, and Brian Keith was one of them. Recently he contacted me, saying he was currently in Paris and was looking to put a team together. I explained that I couldn't possibly help because I don't even have a makeup kit, or any supplies, let alone be in the same country as him (I am currently in Spain). I asked why he was willing to take a chance with me, especially a photographer of his level and experience, when I clearly have no portfolio or any kind of work to prove of any skill I may have. He said "Faith!" and continued to insist on using my help. I found this very fishy, but was euphoric at the idea of starting to work with a photographer whose work has graced covered of magazines. I'm not in Paris, I am in Valencia in Spain. How come you would be willing to take me on anyway? I have no portfolio, nothing.. nothing to prove any skill to you

That's very cool of you, and I really wish I could help because someone like you could really kickstart my career.. working with someone at your level is something makeup artists achieve after years of hard work
but I don't know how I can help you empty handed without a kit, no makeup or hair supplies :(

I'd love to help, and if I could find a cheap train ticket to Paris, I would definitely do what I can to not miss this opportunity... but how would I help once I got there?
